Again, thanks to all of the teams who attended the 2015 Taco Bell Viking Cup! Considering the cold, wet weather this morning, we got lucky with the Thursday-Saturday window.

The tournament concluded with all four of the semi-final teams agreeing that the games should be canceled for today. Everyone gave every effort to finish out the final games, but field conditions and temperatures\rains gave the coaches and tournament staff enough concern to cancel the remaining games at about 8:30am.

Final standings, as determined by the inclement weather points system:
1. Wando (undefeated and no goals allowed)
2. West Ashley (2-0-1 record)
3. Academic Magnet (1-0-2 record)
4. Fort Mill (0-0-3 record)

Sportsmanship Award (I just made this up, but I think it is warranted) - Fort Mill - traveled from home this morning to play because they were not staying over in Columbia, and they had to have district and school personnel out at 6:30am to determine if they were ok to take the district bus due to weather issues - and they had an alternative plan in place if they were not allowed but they felt the roads were safe. What a commitment!!!

Special congratulations to senior Emma Coen of Academic Magnet High School. Emma was selected by the scholarship committee as the winner of the Ashley Nicole Dent Senior MVP Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is funded by Taco Bell in the amount of $1000. Congratulations Emma!
