The inaugural
Crescent Cup, hosted by Airport High School and Brookland-Cayce High school, will be held March 26-29, 2015. The official website of this event can be found at
http://www.crescentcupsc.com/.The 32-team girls varsity soccer tournament was formed after both programs successfully hosted their respective events in the past, the
Lady Eagle Classic at AHS and the
Lady Bearcat Invitational at BCHS, and collaborated those individual tourneys into the Crescent Cup.
The Championship match will take place at Brookland-Cayce’s brand new Athletics Stadium at 2 p.m., on Sunday. Each team is guaranteed three matches and the tournament features teams from all classifications of South Carolina as well as an entry from Georgia, Augusta Prep. Teams that won 2014 State Championships include Hilton Head Island (3A) and Oakbrook Prep (SCISA 1A-2A), while J.L. Mann (4A) and Christ Church (2A/1A) played for the state title. Other squads that reached its classification’s Semifinals are Dorman (4A), St. Joseph’s (2A/1A), and Cardinal Newman (SCISA 3A).

4A – Bluffton, Blythewood, Hillcrest, Irmo, James Island Charter, Lexington, Mauldin, River Bluff, Spring Valley, Summerville, Wade Hampton-G;
3A – Beaufort, Lancaster, Pickens, Swansea, Woodruff, Wilson;
2A/1A – Indian Land, Pelion;
SCISA - Hilton Head Christian, Pinewood Prep; Independent – Providence Athletic Club.
ADMISSION: $20 Tournament Pass; $5 Thursday/Friday; $10 Saturday/Sunday
SITES: Four fields on the two high school campuses will be utilized:
Eagle Stadium (120x58) and the
Eagles’ Nest (120x56) at Airport and
BCHS Stadium (120x64)and
The Cage (115x56) at Brookland-Cayce.
FORMAT: The team listed first will be designated as the Home squad and will wear light colored jerseys, while the team listed second will be considered thee Away team and will wear dark colored jerseys. All matches on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday will consist of 80 minute matches with a five-minute halftime. All matches on Saturday will be 70 minutes with a five-minute intermission. There will be no overtimes due to time constraints and any match that is tied at the end of regulation will move immediately to penalty kicks.
