6th Annual Soccer For A Cure
Brookland-Cayce High School Stadium @ Cayce, SC

This Jamboree featured one-half of play for each "match" for the boys and girls soccer programs from host Brookland-Cayce and Cardinal Newman.

Charlie Corbitt of Alpharetta, GA and the founder of SFAC, was in attendance and there was a raffle for three $100 Eurosport Gift Cards. Donations were collected throughout the day for SFAC, which supports families dealing with cancer.

Several children battling this disease were on hand as Honorary Captains for the Varsity matches: Sophie Chasteen; Kellen Hoey; Zoie Tipping; and Aubrey Willis. In addition, some other youths stricken with cancer that were recognized throughout the event were Sara Duncan and Brooklyn Windham.

A moment of silence was observed prior to the boys varsity match honoring Ms. Sharon Rogers, who passed away this past December after a courageous battle with cancer. Ms. Rogers was a guidance counselor at Northside Middle School in West Columbia and a special friend of Bearcat Soccer. She was also the foster mother of former B-C soccer standout Herbert Cojulun, who played professionally this past year with Xelaju in Guatemala and is currently trying out for professional soccer teams in the southeastern United States.
