No Championship game? I was told that all tournaments had to have a championship game and that it couldn't be based off of points.

Same here. There has to be a championship Game. I was told that it is Mandatory for any "Tournament" to have championship of #1 vs #2 in points.

That's right! You have to have a tournament champion. Cannot play tourneys just to accumulate games.

From the SCHSL Handbook:

8. Definition of a tournament
A tournament is a series of contests in competition for a championship in which at least 1st& 2nd place is decided by a final contest between the two teams. Schools must now submit tournament format i.e., brackets as part of the sanctioning process in basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, lacrosse and soccer. (Maximum: 10 consecutive days for a tournament)

With the games spread out like they are, the Beaufort Cup may be using the term "Tournament" loosely and it may not be anice ACTUAL tournament like we usually do in 2 or 3 consecutive days

.... how? I had the opportunity to host a tournament but was told Round Robin was no longer acceptable unless there was a "Championship" game

I believe the penalty is a forfeiture of these teams postseasons. My understanding is that all tournaments must have a championship format.

I take it that this means there has to be a "championship". Judging from the first result, the WB team should have been left out!

WB is overmatched in this tournament. They have an exceptional keeper though. I saw the HHI/WB game & those kids kept fighting to the very last whistle

I am sure WB appreciates the opportunity. Agreed on their GK. He told me he has signed with Queens. He is a definite all star candidate!
