One of our participating teams in 2016 will be South Anchorage, a very competitive team that lost a close 1-0 match in the Alaska State Championship Finals. The week of the Regions Border Classic is their Spring Break and they are showing up a few days early.

Ideally, they would like to play several matches on March 14, 15 or 16, 2016 as a warm up for the tournament. If you're interested in playing them, please contact Coach Tony Cummings at Greenbrier High School and he can help you coordinate a match. His email is on the post above.

Just a few quick updates on the 2016 RBC toornament:

1. Our SINC tournament website (accessed through www.ghswolfpacksoccer.com)should be up and running in the next few weeks. Coaches - please log into SINC and create/update your team page, including the roster. Please make sure to enter your players' email addresses as you list them on your team roster. Players - the SINC system will send you an email invitation to update your Player Profile for recruiting purposes. You can use the same profile that you use with your Club Team. Your coach will just have to import your existing profile into the high school tournament roster. We had 3-4 college coaches attending last year - we should have a few more this year, especially if some of the players invite the colleges that they are considering.

2. We need experienced, 3-man Referee Crews. We've grown to 40 teams and 62 matches over a 3 day period. If there are any referees in the Columbia, SC, Aiken County, SC, or other parts of SC who want to be part of the tournament, please contact our Referee Assignor, Don Rogers (drogers743@aol.com). These referees will have to be registered with the GHSA before participating - Don can provide details on how to do that.

Please direct any questions to Coach Tony Cummings (anthony.cummings@ccboe.net) or our Event Director, Michele Singletary (mpsingletary@comcast.net).

Thanks.

We now need one Boys Varsity Team and one Girls Varsity team. The Stratford Academy Boys and Girls had to withdraw due to a schedule conflict with their Spring fundraiser.

The Stratford Boys were in the Boys Blue Division, but a replacement team could be placed in the lower White Division if they wish.

As for the Girls, there isn't a lower division - the replacement team would play in the Girls Green Division.

If interested in playing, please contact Coach Tony Cummings at Greenbrier HS (email address above).

Thanks.

We’ve reorganized the 2016 Regions Border Classic tournament into a new bracket structure and now have all spots in both the Boys and Girls Varsity Division filled!

September was our "Drop and Add" month as teams filled out their region schedules and fulfilled their commitments to their other local area tournaments. Along the way, we lost Alpharetta Boys and Girls Varsity teams, Stratford Academy Boys and Girls teams, South Anchorage Varsity Boys and the Cardinal Newman Boys as they withdrew for various reasons. We're very grateful to the Aiken Girls Varsity and Aquinas Girls for filling the empty spots in the Girls Division.

So here's the new format for the remaining 20 Boys Varsity Teams and 16 Girls Varsity Teams:

Boys Blue Division (8 Team Championship Bracket)
Oak Ridge (#9 in TSSAA 3A)
Aiken (#7 in SCHSL 3A)
Hoover (#4 in AHSAA 7A)
Atlanta International (GHSA 1A State Champions)
Paideia (#6 in GHSA 1A)
Farragut (#6 in TSSAA 3A)
Brookwood (#2 in GHSA 6A)
Lakeside Evans (GHSA 5A)

Boys Red Division (4 Team Round Robin Format)
Westminster Augusta (GISA AAA State Champions)
Walton (GHSA 6A)
Greenbrier (#3 in GHSA 5A)
Science Hill (#5 in TSSAA 3A)

Boys White Division (8 Team Championship Bracket)
Evans (GHSA 5A)
First Presbyterian Day School (GHSA 1A)
Augusta Prep (#4 in GISA AAA)
Aquinas (#9 in GHSA 1A)
Academy of Richmond County (GHSA 5A)
Hebron Christian (GHSA 1A)
Grovetown (GHSA 5A)
North Augusta (SCHSL 4A)

Girls Green Division (8 Team Championship Bracket)
Walton Girls (#7 in GHSA 6A)
Hoover Girls (#9 in AHSAA 7A)
Greenbrier Girls (#3 in GHSA 5A)
Cardinal Gibbons Girls (#7 in NCHSAA 3-A)
Brookwood Girls (GHSA 6A)
Aiken Girls (SCHSL 3A)
Lakeside-Evans Girls (GHSA 5A)
Atlanta International Girls (#4 in GHSA 1A)

Girls Gold Division (8 Team Championship Bracket)
Augusta Prep Girls (GISA AAA State Champions)
Paideia Girls (#6 in GHSA 1A)
Evans Girls (#8 in GHSA 5A)
St. David’s Girls (#3 in NCISAA 2-A Private)
Westminster-Augusta Girls (#3 in GISA AAA)
FPD Macon Girls (#3 in GHSA 1A)
Hebron Christian Girls (GHSA 1A State Champions)
Aquinas Girls (#10 in GHSA 1A)

We feel like most of these teams will stick with us and are committed to this new tournament format. However, we will maintain a Waiting List for the Boys Red Division only. IF we have either 2 or 4 similar quality teams apply we could expand the Boys Red Division back out to either 6 or 8 teams. However, this is unlikely as most teams have now filled up their schedules.

If you have any questions or would like to add your Boys Varsity team to the Waiting List for the Boys Red Division, please contact Coach Tony Cummings at Greenbrier High School. Further details on the tournament can be found on our tournament website at www.ghswolfpacksoccer.com .

Thanks.
