I recently had the privilege of meeting Coach Mike Moore, longtime Irmo track and CC coach. I realized he was coaching that team in 1977 when I ran with Summerville HS at Carolina in the State Finals Meet. He started naming members of his squad that year as well as other athletes from other schools. His memory was amazing and when we parted, I almost felt he was an old friend. A humble,genuine man who obviously influenced the lives of not just athletes but students. Sad to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
