How do ya'll think Porter-Gaud will do this year? I mean all they lost was like 6 seniors and they have a pretty powerful defense and a pretty skilled goalie.

PG lost 2 main starting seniors along with 3 substitute seniors. They return a solid defense, a young and creative midfield, and able forwards. The entire starting lineup from last year, barring the graduated seniors, is playing together on a fall team. Also two returning starting sophomores are playing on Bridge FA. But many teams in SCISA will return similar talent, and as always it will be a close race.

Yea thats true but not only are they playing on a fall team they are dominating up front and in defence and there goalie has shown much improvement. True they lost two starting seniors butthey have two people stepping up that are just as good

Yes I know. I play for them. All of SCISA will be good this year and PG will have developed talent to be a force.

looks like this is an all PG post...but if not ill go ahead n add my thoughts that even though they lost only 2 starting seniors, so you say, and if one of them was that tan kid w/ long hair and the other was whatever his name with shaved head then those were the only 2 kids i even noticed, the rest of the team was very sub par... pg's only hope in my mind is either a weak SCISA league or good young kids to build up in the next couple years.

Yes I was not aware that "chucktowngoalie" was a fellow player. I usually refrain from elevating my own team but will offer some opinions. PG did lose two very good seniors, one of which scored two goals in the famed state championship game in 2003 against BL. The rest of the team, now mainly composed of juniors and sophomores, will also return several key seniors, three of which have been playing on the team since 9th grade. There are two sophomores playing on Bridge FA as well as the bulk of the remaining players on a Mt. Pleasant team, the "Cougars." The PG team, I believe, is capable of a strong season. The talent and the skill is there. It comes down to whether the team wants to win. Motivation played an important role last year, namely in the final game against PW, where PG lost in double OT.
I do not know whether SCISA will be weak or strong this year, but there will always be good competition. It looks as if PG soccer is on the rise with a very strong underclassmen presence. We will see how the season turns out.
