Congratulations go to Clover, the winners of this year's Spring Valley Viking Cup, presented by SC United, FC Championship. The Lady Eagles advanced to the championship game with a 3-1 win over Chapin in the semifinals Sunday morning. Then in the afternoon championship, Clover defeated Wando 3-1. Wando advanced to the championship after getting past JL Mann 3-1 in the other semifinal game.
This was Clover's first time playing on Sunday in the Viking Cup. They were able to win with both an overpowering offense (14 goals in 5 games) and a strong defense (3 goals allowed).
Senior Haley Hocking led the defense on her way to winning the Ashley Nicole Dent Sr. MVP Scholarship. Haley will be attending Presbyterian College in the fall.
