New Mexico United Upsets FC Dallas

Wednesday night was an exciting showdown. New Mexico United took on Major League Soccer Football Club Dallas in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and fans were excited. The team won 2-1, and they are one of two United Soccer League teams left in the tournament. New Mexico United recently beat the Colorado Rapids, and they've added a second MLS win to their resume.

New Mexico United is coached by Troy Lesesne. Lesesne prepped at Brookland-Cayce HS (1998-2001) and played club for Congaree Rapid FC. He went on to become an All-American at the College of Charleston before embarking on a coaching career. He has served as an assistant coach at the College of Charleston, the Charleston Battery, the Charlotte Independence and is now the head coach of New Mexico United in their inaugural campaign.
