RALEIGH, NC - The annual Clash of the Carolinas will be held Saturday, June 24 at WakeMed Park's Koka Booth Stadium in Cary, North Carolina. Should there be inclement weather, the site will move to Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh. The Clash is the nation's only interstate All-Star match and has been staged every Summer since 2007 except for the Covid-19 interrupted season of 2020.

Game times are 10:00 a.m., for the Girls and 12:00 p.m., for the Boys. Admission is $12 for the event (children under 5 are Free) and tickets may be purchased in advance at GoFan.co - link below:
https://gofan.co/app/events/1005275?schoolId=NC86449

2023 Sponsors for the Sandlappers include: First Citizens Bank; Hampton Inn Suites Raleigh/Cary; Lloyd's Soccer; SCSoccer.com; and Wingate State Arena by Wyndham Hotels.

The Clash features 72 of the Tar Heel and Palmetto State's top boys and girls graduated seniors in an all-star contest. Also honored are eight coaches from the sponsoring organizations - the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association and the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association.
In the Boys series, North Carolina leads all-time 7-1-7, but four of the past five meetings have ended in draws and five other contests have been decided by one goal. For the Girls meetings, the Tar Heels own a 12-1-2 advantage and have won six consecutive contests.

I just want to take a minute to thank everyone who made this event possible; it was a great experience for the SC players and coaches! Much appreciation to our NC hosts for a job well done! I can't say enough good things about this SC team we had this year; they were some of the most talented, positive, hard-working and deserving players I've worked with in a long career. They truly came to bring their best game and have fun doing it, and it paid off! This is a pretty special win for the SC girls--only the second in the series and the biggest margin ever--and they truly deserved it. Credit and thanks to the parents, the high school and club coaches, and the selection committee who raised, trained, identified, nominated, and advocated for these young ladies who came together to form an outstanding team--leaders among leaders. Big shout to Coach Mark Weaver--thoroughly enjoyed being on the same team with you and could not ask for a better coach to be paired with for this event!

Congratulations again to the girls for your talent, your character, and your positivity, as well as your ability to put aside rivalries and bring your talents together to form a TEAM in short order--this is what an All-Star game is all about!

I've got good news and bad news...
