I won't know who/what we have for new players until 1/24 since that is our first practice. We lost a number of strong players last year, 7 starters to be exact, and as you know (SFsoccer101) that's nothing new since all we have are seniors and juniors at the Governor's School for Science and Math. Steak - SFsoccer101 is curious because, A - he enjoys soccer, and B - we scrimmage them for the first time this year. Maybe SFsoccer101 was on the JV team when we played the SF JVs a few years back, or has a friend attending the Governor's School?

I expect, SFsoccer101, that some of the seniors will get on here in the near future and tell you about some of the juniors. They have been having pickup games all year and they can get boastfull!

This has absolutely nothing to do with this post but I really like the name Steak $11.95. Makes me laugh.

He never said he was worried about them. He just wanted to know who they picked up since they get people from around the state.

Steak, he is asking b/c we scrimmage on the tenth of Feb.

To answer your question SF, we do not have the same team we did last year. We lost five or six seniors, most of which we couldn't have done well without.

As for the juniors (GS has only juniors and seniors, 120 students total) they are looking ok. They do not in anyway though replace what we lost, but we'll manage. Still strong upfront and in the mid, but the defense is mainly getting refilled by the juniors, so its a toss up.

Not going into too much detail about it, you'll see what I mean on the field.

Its still way too early to determine how well the new recruits will do. There's definitely some good potential. Last year's sub goalie is gonna do pretty well this season... or atleast better than the old goalie it seems. There's a lot of potential, but I have a feeling that this year's team might not have the strength of last year's team. Yet, the upcoming juniors have been showing pretty decent ball control. We'll just have to wait and see.

A bit late in seconding your thoughts, but I think "steak $11.95" is a great name, too. "Sexual grapefruit" is another of my personal favorites. I suspect that S11.95 must be a nom de plume (name of the feather) for another established poster, but have no evidence to back this up.
