who do you think will win this year greenville lost quite a few players that were a big influence one th game. i don't know how they're younger guys are because when we played them we mostly only saw they're starters. mann only lost 3 important seniors last year and were returning almost a whole team of starters from last year so how do you think this will shape up?

Your games aren't until April. Why don't you wait until later on in the season to ask this question instead of trying to make a big deal of it now?

cornerflag: maybe because greenville and mann are both huge rivals and it has always been a close match. ever thought that focusing on a match that might be weeks, even months away...might just be good for your game?
i think that greenville will win against mann this year. greenville lost 4 good seniors last year including: gruenwald, pagent, cookie, and simmons. however, gville's excellent sophmore class will pull them through a tough match and the red raiders will win 2 to 1.

Actually Heaven, since you put it that way, there's no way I would think that. Focusing on a game so far away, even if it's a rival is not very smart. You'll get beat by some team that you didn't expect. You might at least wait until after tryouts and see what your team actually looks like and how it performs until you start making predictions.

i konw that the majority of greenvilles starters will be sophmores that all haev the expierence of being on the state championship team...so they know what it takes and what u said earlier about u only saw their starters...well 2 of the starters were freshman last year and 3 sophmores and 1 junior so there is still a good returning starting group

I heard that G'ville had their tryouts extended for 1 week longer due to a protest from parents. Parents did not like who was selected and who was not selected for the varsity, so they compalined and petitioned and got tryouts extended for another week. What is another week going to do? If you got it you got it, if you don't you don't.

I heard last night at a basketball game that Eastside's malcontents got into more trouble. How serious is this issue?

I hope that you are wrong Pop, but unfortunately in todays society people fuss and whine and file lawsuits when they don't get their own way. You are correct, what is another week going to do. Most of these coaches have a very good idea who is going to be on the team even before tryouts. Tryouts is usually for those few that are on the bubble. The goal of these coaches is to put the best team on the field, even if it means cutting someone who was on the varisty last year, or someone else who has been playing JV for a few years and cannot make the varsity.

i don't think the extension on tryouts really matters i mean the best players are going to be the best players no matter how you cut it.

now isn't it interesting that mann beat hillcrest 1-0 and greenville lost to them 1-0. still this is going to be a good game that i look foreward to april 4h the whole world needs to come see the biggest upperstate rivalry.

i definitly think we have a strong anough team to take down mann this year AGAIN!! our sophmores are determined and we have alex pangraze this year to take padgetts place. he is a top ranked player and has already committed to goergetown next year. we have a huge chance about a 99% chance!1

redraidersoccer: i do agree that the raiders will defeat mann however, you mentioning the johnston twins having a positive effect on the game strikes me as humorous. i saw them last year and thought they were quite terrible. their attitude also reaked. have they gotten good?

if someone asked you if you were good at soccer, would you say yes? of course! so asking them might not be the best way to go about getting my proof. i believe that watching them first hand is pretty good proof. i know some of the bench warmers should be playing in their place; not only because they are terrible at soccer, but also because their attitudes are the worst on the field.

You think joel simmons was good, i cant really remember how many goals he had and how much he played in the state game, maybe joel wanted the twins spot but he couldnt get it. No need to be jealous, Joel.

those ballin twins sure did help greenville get their win. it would be pretty sweet if i were joel simmions. however, since im not i guess that makes you fellows look pretty dumb especially since i hear he will be playing with a full ride next year. i will let him know a bunch of jokers are talking trash about him though. im sure it will make him laugh. by the way...my name is joel jenkins. that might be where you guys got your idea it was joel simmions. ps. i still think the twins suck

i was at the gville riverside game and the gville eastside game and the twins were just unimpressive, slow and unskilled...there coach even commented to me on how bad his goalscorers were b4 the game saying that pangraze was he only real threat to any good opponent. the twins suck and against s strong fast defense gville is going to be screwed unless pangraze pulls something out of his ass like he did against the unimpressive overtime woin against a very weak riverside. and the pounding in overtime against eastside really shows how much the gville players want it huh

This board is for people to talk positively about players and teams. Not to prattle immaturally with rivals. Win the game and then you MAY be able to say something.

Brendan Smith is a Junior so no word on Colleges as of yet. Also is the captain of the 7 time state champion Carolina Elite Celtic, (formerly St. Giles) So you may have seen him play through club.

He's actually not the captain for CESA. Aaron is their captain, but Brendan is by far one of their most valuable players. Clemson has contacted him and so have various other schools.

yeah I shouldnt have said captain...I didn't know that for sure. The games I have watched he just seemed to be the on field leader. The Harkins kid is a great player as well, did not mean to take anything away from him.
