No your wrong I dont think anyone is in the same league as Goose. Moody and Faulkner are atleast in the same league. I think Faulkner is the better of the 2.

in the game this afternoon, both goals were stoppable, and in sweetons 2 losses, he got scored on two unstoppable shots and two mistakes by his defense. Also waynes defense this weekend was missing 3 starters in one game and 4 starters in the other 2. He also wasn't playing in goal for the 2 against tl hanna. I am just basing my knowlegde of moody from this afternoon though, so maybe he just had a bad game

SA GK 1, you just summed up what might be his fate, "his work ethic in practice may not be the best". At USC that won't cut it. In college, there is no room for lazy practice players, especially keepers. I don't know mike personally, but all i have heard is how weak his work ethic is. I did see how lazily he reacted to the goal that he let in from the CENTER LINE in state cup. If that ever happens at USC you can bet that he will be right where you are now, on the bench. I think he COULD be a great goalkeeper, but with the work ethic he has now he is as good as he will be.

All of you speak of these lower state goalies. What about some upper state keepers that get the job done? ive played against some tough upper state 4A keepers and i believe that dorman, gaffney, and byrnes had some great goalies! I think that the gaffney keeper has graduated as well as the dorman (not sure about the dorman keeper), but i believe that byrnes has their goalie still. The byrnes keeper isnt too tall but he can definately get the job done! What do you guys think about some upper state guys?

Smith from JL Mann, and Hoover from Mauldin are good. I don't think that Eastside or Daniel is strong this year in the keeper area. I don't know about Greenville.

When I was lil I always heard about how hard Goose worked and now i do hear negative things about his work ethic. I hope he learns how to work hard and plays well at USC he could be a great one.

First off soccerfan, Mike G. is at South Aiken, and they are in the upstate if i am not mistaken. Also, I saw will faulkner's name mentioned a couple of times. Well speaking from having trained both will and austin all club season i have to say playing time was earned and deserved. Austin played every minute of state cup. I am not saying anything bad about Will, he is a great goalkeeper, he was in basketball so that stretched his commitment level very thin. So i ask this question. Seeing as how a lot, probably most goalkeepers play another sport unlike most field players, does a goalkeeper that only plays soccer and trains all year better off or do the other sports keep his reactory senses sharp? I have heard defenses of both and i understand where both sides are coming from. I just want to hear your take.
