Even though it was a scrimmage, thats a good result for BC v. a big 4A school. Does SV have anything this year?

Both teams had several legitimate scoring oportunities. BC had a shot about 18 out with the keeper backpedaling and they chipped it right to him. They're forwards were able to get a few 1 on 1's with a defender just unable to put one away. SV also had several chances but the back line for BC had enough depth to recover in a few situations.

Lexington vs chapin scrimage was a good game lexington couldnt finish and were missing 2 basketball players and had there starting forward in goal but chapin is good this year. I think Chapin has 9 returning starters.

Yea he is pretty bad i have no clue why he started probably because coach didnt want the others to get big heads. The others are all younger too. Its so frustrating playing in goal. But thanks for the compliment. I should have had that second shot it hit my arm and went through my arm pit, that ****ed me off but it was a good scrimage. Did u start Defender

We only have 4 returning starters and only 6 seniors, so we are doing well for being so young and inexperienced. And me will was one of them and i was another so we had 2 returning starters on the field last night. We both could have played better.

It should have been 3-0 Magnet, Fort got a lucky goal with a really high arch above the keeper's head. Magnet had an off night, and for a 1-A school to tie a AAAA school isn't bad, but Magnet should have waxed the field that night

I agree with 2Fast.The Magnet is a fine team regardless of classification. I am sure you could compete with many strong programs in all four brackets, but tonights game probably ended pretty even with both teams missing a few opportunities and alot of excellent, creative play at the midfield from both. Mo, if you are going to come on this very public board and criticize where you were asked to play in a scrimmage against a quality opponent, the only people you will need to worry about megging will be sitting next to you.

I know this is my second season out of coaching, but fill me in, aren't scrimmages about learning what combinations of players work well together, what weaknessess may be exposed. I understand all coaches have different agendas when it comes to scrimmages, I (not saying I know all) looked as scrimmages to prepare for the regular season. I will most likely not go down in the annuals of "great coaches" but I felt we held our own when it came to the regular season. As faras "waxing, lucky, killed, dominated" all good terms, but each program each coach has what plan they may use in preparing for the season, I guess if I look back, we lost a lot more scrimmage then we "won", but to me it was developing a team for the season. I like everyone else am very intrested in how things are progressing, but it what is done in May not Febuary that will be remembered. Just a thought

hornet is AHS Airport High School?? Now to the rest of my post man looks like Flora lost some big time players from last year. Looks like a rough season at least they'll win their region championship b/c they were placed in the EASIEST region ever.

No it was 7-0 we listed all the people that scored and lexington was missing 3 starters due to basketball. and 1 other sub that plays a lot too. They will get better though they have some talent.

The only teams that were in it were.. Aiken High North Augusta Stateboro Richmond Academy
Yes, we should have, we scored first against them of a throw in to Rob Victor's head, but they came back with 2 goals and beat us.

I saw Wando High School play Porter Gaud a few days ago and was extremely impressed with Wando. They controlled the ball very well and it seemed to me they had a very deep bench. Another thing that impressed me was the way in which they worked as a team, there did not seem to be any "big heads." I look forward to watching them grow, as I think they might do fairly well this year.

Fort Mill 4, Ben Lippen 0.
benp, saw your post on the other thread, thanks for the update. Sorry to see that Ben Lippen was missing five starters....that's the problem with these pre-season matches, tough to tell the real story. I heard that BL dominated the first 15 minutes and then FM got a goal against the run of play. After that, it was all FM.

L-E Dude,
Jamal was there, but Airport had a defender (Keith I think his name was) marking him the whole match. It pretty much took him out of the match.
He did show some tremendous touch when he had the ball, and he also showed he has great speed.
He went out of the match late due to a cramp in his left leg.
Overall, it was a close match. S. Aiken dominated for sure, but Airport had a pretty solid defense. They made one STUPID mistake by trying to dribble out of the back and got beat which left a 1v1 with the GK. Airport appears to be struggling offensively this season.

Intestines,
Check the other thread for 1A, I have some comments for you re: IL. I didn't see the game. A friend of mine who just moved into the area from San Diego officiated it. He said IL looked pretty good which was surprising to me.

futbol09 - I don't think you can draw a conclusion based on our scrimmages with WF and SF. First, we had different players at the games, second, I was trying a few people in different positions. From a sideline perspective I think the WF vs SF games will be exciting (aren't they always?) The two teams have different styles of play. Wait 'til Thursday and you'll have another data point to try and figure out how you'll do this weekend at the WF tournament. Good luck - and tell Cisco Hi for me.

Come and see who is better futbol09. SF and WF could very well meet in the championship this weekend in the WF tournament. On a side note, If you play in Hartsville, since u think WF has better players, i think you should really be worried about what your team looks like this year in the tournament after your showing there last year losing to us 8 or 9 to nothing. We play you guys early saturday afternoon, make your judgment there.

Coach Cady I wasn't saying the Governor School was bad or anything i was just saying that i know for a fact that WF has a tremendous amount of talent in thier team. And i was wondering what happened. As for SFsoccer WF has much more talent but they lost Harloff (i think thats how its spelled) because i know the team is not the same without a good coach.

So i guess you still remeber the last game we played against yall i know we didnt win but it was close. Then we played WF and beat us pretty bad but i know they have a lot of talent. By the way how many players did Wf lose last year?

it was 5 to 2 and we were missing both of our center backs, sheldon and tyler. The other 2 times that season we shut you out. I am not trying to down talk hartsville at all because i respect you guys. I'm just saying i dont think you are giving us the respect we deserve. As for WF lost Jordy Jordan, Matt Parker, Ryan Yaken, Justin Dillon, Hunter Jordan, Daniel Bazen, Clint Scripnick, and i'm really not sure who else. And yes they have a lot of talent returning.

We lost 5, 3 were starters 2 weren't. We have 8 returning starters as well as the main majority of our bench.

I'd say WF is better based exclusively on the scrimmages we played. Both teams have one player who controls the game - WF has number 9 and SF has 21 I believe. I just feel that WF has the skills over SF and will come out on top. Good luck to all teams in the tourny.
Can anyone give me some info on Hartsville before tommorrow? Strong players, ect...

Rock Hill 1 Clover 2
Very good game. We played them tough, both 1st scores for each team were due to PKs. Clover scored in last 2 min of the game. Rock Hill is a lot better than last year, so expect a turnaround from us. I'll update on how we do in our game vs Chester tomorrow!

I played in the game, I scored the first goal for the Alums. I injured my knee five minutes later, that what I get for going to Wendy's to much

I missed the Dreher/Heathwood game. Any report? Sounds like a good one. Is Heathwood that much improved? I know they have a good coach, but didn't know what kind of players they had returning.
