bluffton looks really stong this year and i think that they have a real shot at 3a. they are goin to win their region for sure and they have the talent to go all the way. #8 was looking really stong back on D and Luis Justiano isn't too bad. but their biggest asset is that they control the midfield with diego dominating. they may be a new school but they are a force not to be taken lightly

In no particular order..from the results so far these are the contenders I see..

Lowerstate:
Chapin
BC
N. Myrtle Beach
Socastee
(Myrtle Beach and Dreher will be in the mix also.. these are just my initial predictions)
(As for Bluffton..I wouldn't say they can go all the way.. but I think they'll be involved in a few upsets this year..perhaps knocking one of the perennials out of the playoffs.. but I don't see them getting past the second round..)

Upperstate:
Eastside
Greenville
Riverside
(Upperstate final will be Eastside and G-ville if the brackets work out that way.. ..still need to see more from the Upperstate though before I can say much)

i agree for the most part with L-E Dude...but Myrtle deserves to be on the list. they beat an incomplete Eastside squad 3-1 true, but and incomplete eastside squad is still probably a top 10 team in 3a. I would love to see a rematch of the two with both at full strength....state championship maybe?

Eastside is the best team in 3A, if not in the entire state. What remains to be seen is if they can get it together in the post season.

Region 3 #2 vs. Region 4 #3
-----------
Region 1 #1 vs. Region 2 #4
Region 4 #2 vs. Region 3 #3
-----------
Region 4 #1 vs. Region 3 #4
Region 1 #2 vs. Region 2 #3
-----------
Region 3 #1 vs. Region 4 #4
Region 2 #2 vs. Region 1 #3

LOWER STATE
-----------
Region 7 #1 vs. Region 6 #4
Region 5 #2 vs. Region 8 #3
-----------
Region 6 #1 vs. Region 7 #4
Region 8 #2 vs. Region 5 #3
-----------
Region 8 #1 vs. Region 5 #4
Region 6 #2 vs. Region 7 #3
-----------
Region 5 #1 vs. Region 8 #4
Region 7 #2 vs. Region 6 #3

My predicitions..from what we've seen so far (which is not much)
Greenville - Pickens
Riverside - Chester

Daniel - Wade Hampton
Lugoff-Elgin - Clover

AC Flora - Greer
Seneca - Southside

Eastside - Camden
JL Mann - Belton HP

Socastee - Crestwood
Chapin - North Charleston

Wilson - St. James/Carolina Forest
Timberland - Dreher

Bluffton - Airport
Lakewood - MB

BC - Bye*
NMB - Darlington

I totally understand it's way too early to make a serious prediction..just..putting this out there. Anyone else want to take a stab at it?

L-E Dude: i saw the riverside vs mauldin game and i don't think that they can stay with eastside. greenville lost to hillcrest 1-0 while jl mann beat hillcrest 1-0. so the order for upper state should be:
eastside
jl mann
greenville
riverside
this is just from what i've seen preseason

I went to one of the ac flora scrimmages and they are a decent team with a young defense. That may be the determining factor for them as to say how far they will go in the playoffs

I will say this for Flora, whoever did their scheduling should get a pat on the back. It may be a rough season but it will be better for them when they face schools like Seneca, Southside, Mann, and/or Eastside in the playoffs.
