Much improved from the score at halftime WF well done. I figured you guys woulda put them away way before halftime but you outplayed them, the goals just weren't happening in the first half. Good luck with the rest of the tournament.

It was a by far the worst officiated game. Hopefully when we meet West nduring the season, we'll have better ref's. Both teams played well....just one question. Isn't West keeper a little bit too old to be playing? I thought he was a senior last year or falied like 10th grade or something....just a rumor i've heard...

no the west keeper is not to old. He's a senior this year, but he went to trinity last year, so this is actually his first year at west.

Oh it was the worst officiated game i have ever seen. Sometimes you could trample on somebody and not get a foul called on you and then other times you could nudge someone and get called. The 2 redcards given to players were both because of cussing, wasnt even an F bomb, i was in total shock. The refs just really didnt have any consistency

the worst part was that he didnt even say anyting to the captains during the coin toss about cussing. I also dont like it when the head ref is only a like 3 years older than the players.

Doesn't matter, cursing is cursing and they stressed that to all of our coaches this year that they were going to make it a big deal.
I do agree on the matter of the refs being so young. I think there should be something in place for that. Sure it's ok for some college kid to make some extra money refing rec. ball or something but not high school soccer. By the sounds of the last game of the tourney the refs cleary didn't have a handle of the game. They should have taken control when the first red card was issued, or the 2nd or 3rd yellow. It's sad when the refs play a big part in the game.
Quick question, do the coaches/AD's call certain refs to call the game, or do they call it in (somewhere) and they are assigned based on location??? Just wondering...

i have had some guys who blatantly said they did not really know the rules of soccer. They were football refs and just had to be out there. So i guess a couple of college guys who know what they are doing is better than those who don't

striker 33, so if our captain says, "call a Da*n foul" in like the first 4 minutes of the game he deserves a red card? and then the ref says "o yea im getting rid of you early tonight"

i forgot to say that our captain was like 30 ft from the ref when he said it, but the ref told our coach that he was in his face when he said it and then was smiling at him.

yeah our player got tossed for saying sh*t after a horribly played ball. I think it was more of a make up call since he threw the WF guy out he felt he had to throw the SF guy out. During the coin toss i cant remember exactly what the ref said, it was something along the lines of watch the cussing. He didnt indicate it was a straight red.
On a side note. What all did the WF coach do to get tossed walker, i wasnt watching but someone told me he got tossed for flicking him off or something.

I'm not saying it's deserving of a red card (unless it's directly at a ref or player) but if the ref hears it, it's the players stupidity and it does deserve a yellow but that's it.

That's all I'm saying, you didn't specify what the red was for, all you said was cursing and I assumed that he said something directly to someones face. You would have to agree with that.

i figure if he was gonna card them at all it'd be a yellow. I've never seen a straight red for just cussing, but on the other hand since the WF player said "call the d*mn foul" towards the ref it could be a red. I dont agree with it but thats the rules.

Why are all you players complaining about the refs. The game was evened out. Both teams had one player ejected and when the whistle blew after OT the refs were out of the game. It was left up to the teams in pks. During the pks it was up to the players to decide the game. So if anyone is to blame its the players that didnt make their pks.

Because the refs were really that bad. Some of the calls were just plain ludicrous. If you were there, which you probably weren't, you'd have a different perspective on it.

Hey SFsoccer101 I was there. Besides why are you complaining your team won. You better thank the the refs for being on top of things at the end because if they werent then you would have lost 2-0.

I was also at that game, and I must agree with futbolpk10. The players are responsible for their actions, and if they are dumb enough to do something to get carded, then that is their fault. Stupidity on the players part.

Soccerfan15 and futbolpk10 are u 2 the refs from the game? you guys seem to be the only 2 defending them
and i wasn't complaining, i was simply saying the refs had no consistency and didnt have control of the game.

..isn't a school/team penalized $100 for ever red card too? I heard this once..but never really had to deal with it directly. If it's true.. I'd say that's a pretty good reason to gripe about some iffy cards..

yes they have to pay $100 and the school board or the SC HS soccer league can choose to do more about it depending on the severeness of the card.

SFsoccer101 im just a soccer fan that was at the game and i just hate to see players complain about refs when they could have easily taken control of the game themselves. As a player you cant let the ref or anything get into your head. Even if the ref isnt doing a good job then you have to adjust your game and play around it.

the refs are there for 2 reasons to control the game and to watch out for the safety of the players. If the game is out of hand and the refs arent controlling it one of my players or me are liable to get injured. If a ref isn't controlling the game they arent doing their job plain and simple.

..easily..that's funny.
The physical aspect of soccer is probably the EASIEST part.. playing around (or blocking out) horrible refs, fans, and/or opposing players is HARD.
I can't say who is right or wrong here..didn't see the game.. but.. I think everyone..on every level that has been in the game..knows how HARD it is to deal with the mental aspect of the sport.
It isn't whining or complaining.. it's venting frustration..(this is an especially good example..because both teams are sharing in the frustration)
..it does get old though. So..how about we move on.. anyone want to tell me Reuben's last name (from Camden)? or..who scored their goals?

Bud scored one of Camden's goals and John(no. 8) scored the other one in their game against Hartsville and i believe no. 11 scored against Wilson. His name might have been Reuben or Kumar or something idk. And about the SF-WF game it seemed to me that the refs were trying to keep the game in check with the early cards on things that might not have warrented cards ,but in doing this, it backfired. It was a very good game but it seemed that the refs tried to comepensate too much to appease both sides but in all i thought that the refs did a decent job in the tourney with a possible exception for the SF-WF game.
