Having heard this song and dance last year when Alex Mouton did not make All-State from RNE I can tell you what our AD told us about the All-State selections.

(1) Our head girls coach (who was new) did not nominate her, thus she was not eligible to be picked. This was truly unfortunate for her, but part of the coach's responsibility per the mandate by the association.

(2) Forms are distributed at the ADs meeting in March (allegedly) and I know have been online since the beginning of the regular season, because I made sure our new coach nominated several RNE players for these honors.

(3) I know good players are omitted, but it's not always because the selection committee erred, but perhaps the coach of those players themself.

I'd like to hear from the all-state director, Kevin Darlington (Ridge View) about this. Is there a girls' all-state director as well?

..for the record.. I wasn't suggesting foul play or politics..

I just hope there is a good reason Rushe(JR) was selected instead of Summers(SR)..not a knock on Rushe..but..I think it's pretty well known that Airport was a presence this year largely because of Summers. ..just an example.

If these players were omitted due to some error by their people..then that is unfortunate..and I hope they get some North/South recognition.

Overall..the picks look fine to me..

Sorry, but how did Riverside not get anyone selected this year? We're young, but good.

Daniel's sophomore is very good, but why didn't Huffstetler make it from Eastside?

As for the Summers kid, how many times does a team in fourth place in their own region make an All-State Team? He might be good, but that's a lot of losses on his record!

I'd say holding SA (though early in the season) to one goal..in and of itself puts Summers above Rushe..

There are quite a few losses on Dreher's schedule also ..35 goals allowed (though certainly playing better competition)..I would still go with the senior..that kept his team in every match..
