csc#12. It is so good to hear from someone so knowledgeable about the game. Long on opinions, short on facts. Yes Cn should do well next year. Let me give you a series of facts, not opinions. CN was ranked by ALL pollsters # 1 last year. Until playing Heathwood in the final SCISA game of the season, their "weak" goalie had not allowed a goal from ANY Scisa team all season. The goal allowed in the regular season was by a sweeeper who tried to keep the ball away from a Highlander forward. He kept retreating from the 18 yard line all the way to the box.I guess he was trying to show off his "superior" ball handling skills. He lost that battle even though the "weak" keeper was screaming "away" several times! The second SCISA goal, again by Heathwood, was the same sweeper waiting stationary at the 18 for the forward to dribble up and manaeuver around he and the goalie for another score. The "weak" keeper was again screaming "away". In all fairness this sweeper made the all region team but is the same one who has let down the CN football team by not showing up for practice and getting suspended. The "weak" CN keeper did missplay a corner kick and pushed it into the goal himself.3 SCISA goals all season, 12 against all oponents, including ranked public schools, only 3 losses. That is pretty "weak" (sarcasm intended) The keeper, sweepers and midfield banded together to make an almost inpentrable wall on defense. What the midfield let through, the sweepers stopped, what the sweepers missed, the keeper stopped. The ideal concept of a team. CN vs BL was a classic game with both keepers making dramatic saves to keep their team in the game. CN 1 BL 0. BL keeper region keeper of the year(a senior) CN keeper (a sophomore) has transferred to a public school. By the way, the SCISA championship game was won in OT because CN players missed their shots, outside the frame, including one from a 8th grader. On paper CN was dominated by seniors but the majority of starting players were sophomores and juniors. If they can find another "weak" keeper, they should do well again. The biggest problem with these type of boards is that anybody, including me, can state "facts". Mine are verifiable, are yours?
