Dutch Fork sophomore Danny Cates has been selected to the US ODP Region 3 Team for players born in 1990. The 18-player pool was announced yesterday. Cates will join the pool players from across the US in Texas Nov 24-28 to compete for a chance to make the National Team. Zack Prince also made the region pool for his age group. But unless they have narrowed them down, the pool teams have more than 18 players. Zack's pool has 26 for example (couldn't get the link to the 90 pool to upload)

Danny was one of 35 players named to the 90 pool. He has been asked to attend a tournament as a representative of the region III team. This tournament team is 18 players strong. At this tournament, the players will be evaluated to see if they will be included on the region III team for games in Argentina in February '06. Also going to this tournament from SC is Enzo Martinez (also in the 90's). Quite an accomplishment for each of these young men and quite and accomplishment for the state to have 2 members named for this tournament.

who will they play in this tournament? It seems like they would just kill club teams, but maybe not...are they playing region teams from the other regions? I hope both players will make south carolina proud.
