I ADMIRE YOUR DETERMINATION AND TIME INVESTED IN COMPILIMG THESE RATINGS BUT IN THE SPACE OF ONE WEEK, ANY CREDIBILITY IT HAD IS GONE. HOW DOES YOUR #1 FALL TO #6 WITHOUT PLAYING AND WITH WINS OVER YOUR NEW #1 AND #4?
EVEN IF PEOPLE ACTUALLY VOTED THIS WAY, REMEMBER THE POLL BOES HAVE YOUR NAME ON IT.IT SIMPLY WON'T BE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY, AND WITH ALL THIS EFFORT, THAT IS A SHAME.

benplippen,
Since your ranking is more of a popularity contest ranking than an actual quality ranking, you may want to have your own quality ranking system and call it 'The BTTQRSCHSVBSTTMAPH' ranking system: BenpLippen's Top 25 Quality Ranking of South Carolina High School Varsity Boys Soccer Teams That Makes Anthony Pelton Happy

Obviously he has never seen you out on the fields working hard in your grass suit.
Benp, A ranking I would like to see you do since you are most knowledgeable about a lot of teams, is an RPI strength of schedule ranking. As you know SA, NW and Wando have very weak schedules. Who has the toughest schedule in each class?

The whole weekly Top 25 classifications sort of cancels itself out now that the real rankings have come out. Also Pelton places a good point that Bishop England, which was #1 in your rankings last week, fell to #6 having the same record. Finally, Greenville High, the team that lost to BE in the tournament finals in the Carolina Soccer Classic took over their number one ranking for this week. That seems quite interesting to me... and also since these rankings are based solely on those who email benp their own thoughts of a top 25......it all just seems like a waste of time now

again, the rankings are based on an average of what people send me. BE dropped because more people gave me top 25s with them down in the 15s-20 instead of people reacting. We'll see how it turns out. It's basically a waste of time. But I enjoy helping put together a less than accurate, but fairly decent ranking of teams despite their classification. I guaruntee it will get more accurate as the season progresses and teams have more games. For example, right now, everyone in there is basically 1-2 2-1 or 3-0. So once we have 10 games to base it on, there will be a much more accurate top 25.

In my opinion, bishop englands win over greenville was a tie. Winning in pks shouldn't count as much as winning on the field, and neither should losing in pks. So, basing them on that, bishop england is about where they should be. Maybe greenville and BE should be 3 and 4 or something....

One last thing. No one deserves to be number 1 right now. The teams that are undefeated played weaker teams, and the teams with losses played tougher teams...wait 1 or 2 more weeks and i think we'll have a good #1 candidate.

When ranking B.E. though you can't just look at the Greenville match, because remember that they also beat Spring Valley the day before.
