For someone so adamantly defending "the facts" you make some pretty pathetic generalizations about public schools. There are contracts for public players too..and they are enforced.

I dare to say though that public school adminstrations have the foresight to investigate before expelling someone though. But again..none of us know all the facts and/or evidence. So..it's probably best we ALL stay away from generalizations and the like.

Unfortunate turn of events for BE for sure.

I only know one person involved....I did not speak of ALL that got kicked out.I would not make that statement if it did not come from a reliable source. As far as the attitude...I have seen that firsthand... and let's not attack the public school system...boys get kicked off the team there too

Soccersmylife...wow...you tell people to get their facts straight after making some unbelieveable generalizations about public schools. Let me guess....you have a child that goes to BE.

I seem to remember BC losing nearly half their team 3 years ago due to drugs. This senior squad has been practically the same team since their freshman year due to players being kicked off the team.

I will not mention the schools, but I know for a fact that players in public schools have been removed from their sports teams for drinking, smoking, poor grades, and poor attitudes. If the coach for any sports team allows such poor behavior, that coach should be removed. These problems occur in club sports and school sports. Any person who is participating in ANY sport should understand the rules and SHOULD be held accountable for their actions. When I was in High School, my coaches would drop by my classes and make sure that I was acting responsibly. In addition, my coaches would stay in constant contact with my parents to ensure that I was on the right track. That is good coaching….

Coaches should be responsible for the integrity of their programs. Players should be responsible for their actions. Parents should be responsible their children…

By the way, if J.J. Redick (Duke University) was caught drinking the night before the Final Four, Coach K would suspend him from the program…. That is what a responsible coach would, and should, do……..

I’m not saying that players shouldn’t be given the benefit of the doubt, Nor am I saying that players should not be given a second chance. I’m simply stating that WE, should not place athletic achievement above OUR responsibility to create a positive environment for the athletes WE have chosen to guide through life.

“Athletes are the Heroes to Young Children, But Coaches are the Heroes to True Athletes”.
