As far as lower state, Barnwell and Hampton have much tougher schedules this year than in the past. Barnwell went out and scheduled Hanahan, Heathwood Hall, who was in the SCISA state championship last year, Batesburg-Leesville, who was ranked #6 in the state at the end of the year and #2 now, and White Knoll, a 4A school. We did not schedule any 1A schools like in the past either. These out of region games go along with what could be considered the most competitive region in AA.

Hanahan looks like a really bad team this year but i think that a lot of it has to due with their tough schedule. Hanahan's record right now is 6-7, but of the seven games they lost. 2 are against 4A teams in a pre season tournament(one of which was Fort Dorchester). 2 are against BE which no one in 2A is going to beat(and the score was 1-0 at half time in both matches). 1 loss is to Lincoln who is an amazing 1A team, 1 loss is to Waccamaw (3-2, the day after B.E.), and 1 is to Wade Hampton (3-1 in OT, the third game in a row, and waccamaw is the next day). I also think that in a lot of the close games like Waccamaw, Wade Hampton, Barnwell, and even the second half of the B.E. games Hanahan's intensity begins to fade out because of fatigue from playing 3 or 4 games in a week against mostly ranked teams. Of Hanahan's 19 regular season games 13 are against ranked opponents.

I'm guessing you mean with exception of Bishop England whom easily have the hardest 2A schedule (and one a great bit more challenging than many teams in SC for any division).

vs. Porter Gaud #5 SCISA (twice)
vs. Hilton Head #2 4A
vs. Spring Valley #4 4A
vs. Greenville #1 3A
vs. James Island #7 4A
vs. Paideia #11 2A/1A (GA)
vs. Greenbrier #1 4A (GA)
vs. Pinewood Prep #1 SCISA
vs. Wando #3 4A
vs. Father Ryan #1 Div II (TN)
vs. McCallie #3 Div II (TN)
vs. Brookland-Cayce #8 3A
