wow wildcat classic has an impressive field of teams, ha, for a "region contending" team, you'd think west ashley would get some better teams to play in their own tournament.

This tournament is a good thing for a team that has to play wando and ji in the coming weeks. Taking a whole week off for any team, in any sport, could be very detremental to team chemistry and physical conditioning. I don't think WA intended for region contenders to come play in their tournament with risk of harming their record. Even if WA doesn't come out with a perfect record in the tournament, which I hope they will, I still think they will be better prepared for Wando and JI then they would have been if they would have taken a week off.

Great games today! I am absolutely amazed by the two West Ashley strikers. I thought No.2 Robert Wright played best. He had so much speed and never really tired. No. 3 Brady Johnson also had a good game but he talks a lot and I think that affects his play.
In the first game I thought that Bluffton deserved to win, although Hanahan had their fair chances. I really don't see how No.3 is their striker. I thought he lacked speed and positioning and his drible wasn't all that great. No.21 who was a midfielder played better. Bluffton's best men were No.5 Diego who scorred a hattrick (he doesn't pass the ball much) and a winger named Julio.
I hope more teams get invited next year.

Im from hhi and i play on a hilton head and bluffton club team during the fall and i have played with both julio and diego and both are very talented players...also there is a midfielder by the name of jimmy...very good foot skills...can beat anyone one on the dribble as well as a shot from the 18...bluffton looks to be a good team in the next couple of years...they will give hilton head some good competition in 3A

Results from Tuesday
Bluffton 3 Hanahan 1
West Ashley 4 Seneca 3
WA played for 70+ min with 10 men due to a red card. Hard match but clean. At half 1-1. Good job to get the win and play down a man.

Thanks goes out to Bluffton, Hanahan and Seneca for playing this year. There was some very good soccer played. It was nice to have a team from the upstate. they were a class act and played TEAM soccer.. very nice team to watch play. Bluffton is a young team, but has a lot of talent. Hanahan never gave up and will continue to get better. They were good sports the entire time. Thanks to the parents who gave thier time to work.
