benp,

We played in the U17 Allievi Category. According to there information..."as a special dispensation, the tournament organizers will allow players from US or English based teams to use U18 players". I guess that is because we are supposed to be inferior. That was probably the correct age for us anyway since 18 of 22 played U17 or below this season.

The 2 teams they played today were Varese Calcio and Dutch Soccer Academy out of Maine. Both scores were 3-0. Our "category" consisted of teams from Ireland (1), Italy (5), Switzerland (1), USA (3, SC, Fla, Maine).

futbol,

You are correct, an unfergettable life experience. They have taken over 600 pictures. I can't wait to see them (the boys and the pictures). And believe me, I am jealous also.

Ciao!

I believe over in Europe they do their age groups differently. Whereas U18 in the U.S. starts August 1st of 1987, they start January 1st of 1987. So all the young lads born from January 88 to July 88 play U17 overthere while they would play U18 over here.

Glad it didn't have anything to do with that ankle bracelet.

;>)

Congrats to DF....great experience for them and I'm sure they will use the momentum to carry them deep into the state playoffs.
