Let's not have the "big fish in a small pond syndrome". I thought I had some really good players until we played Eastside and Riverside. Then you see that every one of their players are as good or better than my best. These kids are just at a different level. It is unbelievable.

If you ever read the posts on the "Best Whatever" threads, it usually is the "Big Fish in Small Pond Syndrome". Not always, but many times it's about one standout player on a weak team playing weak opponents that would be average or above average on a good high school team.

Is Rudi that small kid with the afro and he played last year. Because if it is im gonna have to disagree with you beast. I have seen him played and have played against him. Hes not the best sophmore out there. Yes he is pretty good, but no where near the best.

All coaches need to consider this point when submitting your entries for All-State and North-South.

Yea that is a great point but.....it does not mean that you can only be considered "one of the best" or All-State and North-South if you come from a team full of talent.

I played a bunch of small schools in my day and everyone once in a while you run into some talent that you think could have gotten them further if they were on a better team, because they would have received more respect that way.

Not every great play has the glory to be surrounded by more talent to support them....
