Wando did hustle, and they may have had more shots, but the only thing they did notably better than Irmo last night was take advantage of their opportunities.

I imagine you are probably a student who was standing in the middle of the student section, and you just got a little overwhelmed by all the excitement.

In that situation, it's quite understandable how you would see things the way you did.

But, Wando will have to play BETTER soccer than they did last night to win state.

Hey, what did the guy who ran out on the field at halftime look like? My dad went for what I thought was a bathroom break when a commercial came on during Jeopardy, and came back a little while later breathing heavily and sweating profusely.

Was anyone hurt? Dang, now I'm gonna have to stick him back in the box.

Did they take their lunch money too? Fort Mill fans would have plucked the dollar bills right out of their hands.

I have seen both of these teams play throughout the years and I felt that neither team played nearly as well as they are capable of playing. It was fun to watch but could have been better.

Gentleman Dave I don't what game you were watching but Irmo certainly didn't posess the ball more than Wando. The only thing they would do is boom it up to their forwards and hope that Prince would get loose. You don't win a game 4-1 if the other team controls the ball. Wando controlled the ball, the game, and had their way with Irmo. End of disscusion.

Hi Mom,

The students were chanting at the parent wandering around on field berating the refs.

Yea I don't think they would be chanting at two little girls. However, an Irmo fan walking out on the field to argue with the refs (another classic case of those spoiled Irmo fans) would be a prime target to chant at. So Irmo.mom, please get your facts straight before you start talking crap about Wando fans.

That was not an Irmo fan, get over yourself. There has been no trash talking or whining from the Irmo supporters or anybody else on here. They got beat last night, and so be it. Stop trying to start crap by saying that it was an Irmo fan, it was not....attempted argument/attemted way at making Irmo look bad is now over. Nice try though.

I'm going to copy and paste a post that was in the james island v spring valley forum that is one of the most classy posts I've ever read...

"This was a well fought match between two very good, evenly matched teams. Each side had their chances. It was a very emotional game, as playoff matches are, compounded by the fact that one of our player’s step-father had passed away the day before. I respect that Spring Valley players and fans believe a foul preceded the James Island goal. I don’t think any James Island supporter will ever believe there was one, and they will feel James Island tied the game. That’s the nature of the game we love. Several good teams lost last night. Many seniors state-wide will not be state champions and will face a similar end to their high school soccer experience. That too is the nature of the game. Any of us who have been the parent or coach of a senior who has lost a playoff game, or been in that situation ourselves as a player, know it can be a very emotional experience. Let’s try to respect that. There were several events that happened off the ball and a lot of physical play. But for every bit of pushing and shoving that happened at the end of the game, I also saw players on each side hugging, shaking hands, and trying to stop a situation that had not been controlled. I’m really proud of those players. Good luck to the seniors on each team in soccer and in life."

Obviously if you just change the team names...I'm sure the case is much the same...the irmo team and fans have a lot to be proud of..they lost to a very good wando team...not to mention that the history of excellence at irmo is something that has never been seen before anywhere in the country...players from both sides should hold up there heads...all of these players are quality both on the field and off the field...i don't see why we should bring disgrace to there accomplishments by acting like children on this message board...Thank you.
