Anyone know anything about A.C. Flora? Like what players are top scoring threats, whats the midfield and defense like, and how is the keeper. Also, what style of soccer do they play. Any info would be good.

A.C. Flora has a decent side this year and are usually a pretty strong team. Walker Nickles is their big threat up top. They also have a Soph. that is pretty decent up front. Their goalkeeper is Russ Sandifer and he's a solid shot-blocker. Flora has a lot of newcomers from Cardinal Newman and Hammond, who have helped out with the loss of Zach Beasley and Michael Taylor. They also have a new coach, since Thad Miller left last June. Dreher plays them Saturday, so we'll definitely see how they stack up with the Blue Devils.

Shut up fathead. You don't know what your talking about. You think they are going to beat us b/c they left their starters in and racked it up on you guys. I think you should be the last person deciding wether a team is actually good or not because you wouldn't know what to look for. Could you explain to me what your obsession with trying to slap the ball out of the air is? I was just wondering that during the game tonight? Its funny you complained about the refs but they only called like 2 hand balls and you guys were SLAPPING them out of the air especially you FATHEAD or Josh or whatever. You deserved the red card too. You already had a yellow and should have been out of the game earlier. I don't know about you guys but i'm ready for Flora.

Ok...before you go runnin off at the mouth, you really should think before you speak. If you don't, you make yourself look like an idiot.
To address one of your points-I don't know what to look for. Yeah...you're wrong about that. As much as you'd like to tell yourself otherwise. I've seen both teams this year and my opinion stands in the favor of A.C. Flora. Reasoning behind this is b/c after playing both teams, I observed that they move the ball much better than your team. Not saying that LE is bad, b/c you're not...I won't lie to myself and say that LE sucks, BUT, Flora plays better soccer...end of argument.
Secondly-sure, we got blown out by them, but missing a few starters and our keeper played a key factor in the amount of goals scored. We can't hang w/ a team like that, and I'll be the first to admit it. But, I'd like to think that the next match will show a difference.
The "ball slapping" was done on purpose, yes. I thought I'd try to slow your team down in a way that looked accidental. Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do, and if you can get away w/ it, more power to you...to a certain extent.
The yellow, I deserved. The red was a horrible call. Ever hear this..."an object in motion tends to stay in motion." It's a law of physics. Your man stopped and fell in front of me, and despite my best attempts to not fall on him, I did. If I had done it on purpose, I would've tried to fall w/ some force, but I didn't b/c it was unintentional. Ask #11...I talked to him about it after the incident and he agreed w/ me. But, the call was made and I gotta roll w/ the punches. Oh well for me.
Speaking of "punches"...how about your guy pushing me down in the box? If he would've let me shoot, I might've missed as opposed to us getting one in on the p.k. It was a horrible challenge made by the guy...he got NO ball on it. So, if you have anything else to say, let me know...I ALWAYS got an answer.

man that is BULL CRAP!!! you were pushing people on my team the whole time. maybe you didnt get the red for the fall maybe you got it for playing soccer like a dick the whole freakin game... when most of the fouls called are called on you maybe the refs start to think accidents are performed on purpose as for grabbing the ball out of the airthat was lame... thats called "im to slow to get to the ball, to lazy to put forth any effort, so im gonna cheat. it didnt even slow the play down... if anything it helped by slowing the ball down for a better kick. and as for the slide tackle in the box.... that was bull crap too... the player on my team ran past you and slid from the front and the ball went out. so either he hit the ball into you which sent it out, or he hit the ball, either way he hit ball and your fat behind hit the dirt.

It's not that I was being lazy or anything like that...just realized that we had lost the game and I thought I'd have some fun w/ it. Important point: there's a difference btwn physical soccer and pushing and shoving. There was pushing from both sides, as well as physical soccer. You guys played physical too...I was pushed and so were my teammates, so stop your whining; it's part of the game. So, don't say that I played like a "dick" b/c most contact I had that resulted in a call or card was accidental. I don't go on the field to hurt anybody, so why would I try to. Maybe once or twice I got frustrated and went in too w/ a grudge, but you got your calls for it.
As for your guy hitting me...that was a blatant foul and he totally missed the ball. Argue it all you'd like.
You guys won and congratulations to you for that. Arguing back and forth about the game won't change its outcome. Good game and I look forward to the next match.

Man, Fathead here must be afraid to admit how much he sucks!! That slide tackle that you keep talking about, well..... you know that our guy hit the ball. Why must you intend on saying that he missed. If he missed the ball and only hit you then tell me, why did the ball go to the side and out of bounds rather than up the field(the direction you were going)? He out ran you, got in front of you, slid in and knocked the ball away, and you ate the dirt. How can you complain about getting a red card. You should have gotten one a lot earlier than you did but the ref was trying to keep from going that far since you guys already had one. And then when he finally did give it to you, you started throwing a fit and yelling at the ref. So, I don't know what you were talking about in one of your earlier posts about sounding like an idiot, because yu did enough of that last night.
Oh, and by the way, about us not controlling the ball as well... we weren't even playing that hard against you. We didn't even play our starters in their normal position but for like fifteen minutes. We even had one of our starting defenders not at the game because he is sick. Plus we had our starting keeper playing in the field some after he came out of goal, which was very early in the game. If we would have left our whole starting team in there and played to our fullest, there is no doubt we would havee won like 15 or 16 to nothing. So, before YOU go running YOUR mouth maybe you should know what you are talking about!

L-E guy, there is no way that your team would have beaten lakewood 15 or 16 to zero. Did the thought that lakewood had three key players out the whole game. so really, they were in the same boat as you. except for the fact that the first red card given was not necessary what so ever. also, the last red card was completely unnecessary as well. however, fathead did deserve the yellow he got for the trip, the second yellow was uncalled for. the next time these two teams meet, a whole new game will come about. lakewood has potential to win several of their up and coming games, especially against L-E.

Afraid to admit how much I suck...of course I am. I'm not gonna say that I'm extremely good, but I know that I don't suck, so let's refrain from name calling and try to keep these conversations a tad more mature.
Maybe you're right about the slide...he got ball, sure. But, he was going for more than ball and there's no doubt in my mind about it.
Now, about me acting like an idiot and all this other nonsense you speak of...not likely. When I supposedly "threw a fit", I was merely pleading my case to the ref. No whining about it, and I was very polite to him about it too. Your player, #11 and I discussed it before I got the card, and some other guy on your team, and we agreed that it wasn't intentional at all. But, the ref called it, so whatever. That's all I have to say about that.

And as for having all your players in different positions and everything...that's wonderful. I'm happy for you, really I am. You obviously have a team full of people that can play the whole field, and that's good. I did notice your coach switching people around the whole game.
But, like I've said before...the game is over and talking about it won't change the outcome. With this being said, I'd like to say good game to LE and good luck in your season and the game against A.C. Flora.

l-e guy, i do not believe that what i said was very funny. it seems like whenever we play at home, the refs tend to call against us. but, that is the legacy that the lakewood team before us has left. not one player on your team impressed me what so ever. all it takes is a little pressure and most of l-e will fold. its true, there arent any awesome players at lakewood, but when they are all there, (13), they can be a threat. but, all that there is left to do is wait and see.

as far as AC Flora, #4 (the one with the first red card) had to play in the goal, with a jv midfield and other hurt players, out at the game only because we needed more bodies. so, i do not believe that the score of that game really reflects the game or ability of either teams. AC Flora will have you at your knees, i hope that your ready. good luck and until next time.

stevedave, I don't know if I would call your post "funny," but I do know that it is completely unrealistic.
You said that "there is no way that your team [LE] would have beaten lakewood 15 or 16 to zero," but you claim "lakewood has potential to win several of their up and coming games, especially against L-E." If it is true that Lakewood has "potential" to defeat a team that scored 9 goals against them-as opposed to their 2, isn't it also true that Lugoff "has the potential" to defeat Lakewood 15 or 16 to 0? I certainly do.
You also claim that no one from LE impressed you, you must not have watched the game. Lugoff has some clear talent in their two strikers (evident in the 9 goals they scored against you). They may have had more if lakewood hadn't batted the ball around with thier hands. Their defense and midfield are also quite strong-although you might not see any "super stars" because they'd rather work as a team than call attention to their own individual talent.
You also go on to complain that the refs hate you and none of the cards you got were deserved (except one!). I find this very hard to believe. No matter how inconsistent a ref may be I don't believe he/she would causually hand out red cards. But if Lakewood doesn't understand the concept of a "Hand Ball" maybe they don't understand the reasons cards are given.

stevedave......To tell you the truth.. I hope you guys do improve by the next time we play. Its always good to see a team learn and improve as the season progresses. But about us not having anyone impressive on our team...we will just have to wait until the next we play to show you all of our real talent that we have. Maybe we will keep our starters in for a while and show you what we got next time. OK, I'm not saying your whole team sucks or anything, but if you guys pull together as a team you can be a lot better by the next time. Anyway, I think its time to move past Tuesday game. We have a big game to get ready for tomorrow. Good luck with the rest of your season.

l-edude, your right about us pulling together. the team that we have this year is not really a team. most of the players like to goof around while the others practice, so, when game time comes they are clueless of everything. and as for you, soccerchicwhatever, if you have never been to a game at lakewood, that you should keep your mouth shut. it is common for the refs to hand out cards. infact, the player who was given the first red card at the l-e game was also named the friendliest senior at lakewood, tell me how that works out. l-e dude, i am really looking forward to playing yall again, and i agree, there is a player on our team who likes to talk about how good he is, and even use his hands on purpose, but the hand-ball in the box on that day was not intential. i would never do anything like that. i was just trying to turn so i could land on my back, instead of my wrist. but what is done is done, hopefully we will be at full strength against you next time. good luck, and if you dont mind, email me which number you are, or maybe post it so i can put a face to all these words, i am number 4
