The Charleston Battery (A-League) soundly defeated the Dallas Burn (MLS) 4-1 at Blackbaud Stadium last night. The Battery had the run of play most of the match. They were up 2-0 at the half on goals from Morgan Zeba and a terrific shot form Seamus Donnelly that picked the top 90 from 24 out. The second half saw the Battery continue to attack. Morgan Zeba got his second goal, and won match MVP awards, and Eric Wynalda scored on a diving header to make the score 4-0. Dallas was awarded a controversial penalty kick that Jason Kreis converted. The Battery were playing without Paul Conway (hamstring) and Terry Phelan (jet lag). One low spot was that the Battery's John Wilson was given a red card for a tackle in the middle third about 20 minutes from time.

The Battery next play another home exhibition against the MLS's New England Revolution on Saturday April 13 at 7:30. Please, if you live in the Charleston area, come out and support the Battery!
