The annual North-South Soccer Classic, sponsored by The Home Depot, will be held this Saturday (June 8, 2002) at Wando High School Stadium in Mount Pleasant, SC. The South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association and its' parent organization -- the South Carolina High School Coaches Association -- are the primary organizations responsible for coordinating and staffing this event which is also supported by the Town of Mount Pleasant and Gatorade.
This year's event will honor 72 of the top senior boys (39) and girls (33) players from members of the South Carolina High School League and is now in its' 14th season at the coastal site for the boys game, while the girls event enters its' sixth season overall and third consecutive year in the Port City. The North boys lead the overall series 7-4-2 and last year's scoreless contest was called at halftime due to inclement weather. The North girls lead the series 3-2, but the South team tallied a 2-0 victory in 2001.
Listed below are the rosters for the 2002 games, which will be played at 12 noon (girls) and 2 p.m. (boys).
