just out of curiosity, what is your record for the most saves you've had in one game?

198? You're making that up, right? Sorry to see the Yellow Jackets' early departure from the playoffs. How good was Spartanburg?

I might have exagerated a bit by one or two. Long ball with a supportive pinched midfield was neutralized by fantastic wing play. Help is on the way, though, as the Anderson club scene is ready to start year 2. 2004-2005, we'll make you proud. Is WA going to shake off the rust and explode through the playoffs in rare form? Intriguing minds want to know...

Far be it from me to predict how far West Ashley will go in the playoffs. Last year in winning state they played every game from the bottom seed position, and all their playoff games were overtime wins except the state final. I'd rank WA, Wando and JI as virtually even in their chances of winning lower state. I'd also not count out the other top ten teams: DF, RNE, Summerville, Irmo. Anything can happen.

What I'd tell the girls is the following: It's not the size of the girl in the fight that counts but the size of the fight in the girl. Wando players put their shorts on one leg at a time just like everybody else (though they do drive nicer cars and have straighter teeth). Quitters never win and winners never quit (or they wouldn't win). Every moment is precious. And precarious.... When the situation is desparate it's too late to be serious. Try having fun instead.

i dont really keep track of that stuff b/c you can't tell a keeper's ability by looking at the number of saves they made in a game! If you make 500 saves in a game but they were all your basic step to and catch... what does that show about a keeper's ability? Compare that to just making 5 really challenging saves.. you know.. the ones you get up off the ground with the ball in your hands and hear the stands yelling your name.. which would you prefer? Not being rude in any way.. im just saying.. it is something to think about

Hey Jess, You played outstanding last night against Brookland Cayce. I have to rank you at the top of all the games I have ever seen, for the most saves of a goalie with a good defense (48 against that Georgia team). I can't perceive anyone making 198 saves against a team, if their is a defense in front of them! When you went on the field to play offense in the last 10 minutes, you had the fans on their feet. You were worth my admission fee! Good effort by most of the Carolina Forest girls, keep your heads up, and good luck in the future. Good luck to Brookland Cayce in the rest of the playoffs! They have a few outstanding players that could take them them into the next round.
