Depends...what weekend in February is it?

Which school's basketball teams either didn't make, or have been eliminated from the State basketball tournament?

I know that Irmo, Chapin, Aiken and Lexington (probably some others...West Ashley?) all have key players that are also on their school's basketball teams. Last year Irmo went to the basketball state finals, and has most of that team back.

My pick, as always, is one of the Chuck town schools. Of course, if Lexington wins it I won't be too sad.

Charleston area schools...now there's a reach! You seem like more of a gambler to me? Although, Spartanburg and Dutch Fork played for the title last year.

I won't be too sad if Lexington does well either [Wink] Of course, I would rather they made some noise in May! Maybe a Lexington - T.L. Hanna rematch for the Upper State Championship?!?!? [Cool]

My pick, of course, is going to be chapin. But the basketball thing will hurt us to some degree. I believe it will dig into about 6 starters for us and mostly the defensive side of the game. Goalie will be chapin's biggest challenge this year by far.

Hey, I'm just playing it safe. Can you blame me? Now, if T.L. Hanna and Lexington make it to the Upper State Finals I won't be there. I'll be too busy watching the pigs flying in my backyard. Best of luck and I'm sure I'll see you down there. Chapin looked good during camp, how that carries over to the tournament.

Not "how", I meant "hope" that carries over.

ruling out Charleston area schools may not be such a bad idea, deahler. if i remember correctly last year West Ashley made it to the semi finals of their bracket against Spartanburg, in which during the pregame warmup, starting forward Julie Bolt, twisted her ankle putting WA at a loss up top. Also Danielle Jordan is involved in basketball so the season also affected their play last year. If Danielle is to attend this year and Julie stays injury free i think WA will be a reasonable threat at the cup this coming year.
