Need some help. Fort Mill has a non-region varsity game scheduled with Richland Northeast.

Does Richland Northeast have a JV girls team?

no they do not. I am sure of the because i help out with the girls program at irmo and we are looking for 2 games to fill those spots.

It is my understanding that RNE will not be fielding a girls JV team this year, which is surprising. They are a good varsity team which won the Region last year.

A varsity's success from the year before has nothing to do with a JV (except maybe hightened interest). And, it's not really surprising seeing as how the school district that RNE is in has made rule saying no middle school players (unless they played JV as a 7th grader) can play JV, they have to play on a middle school team.

If Fort Mill couldn't use 7th & 8th graders, they wouldn't be able to field a JV either.

Yes, thanks for that clarification. I did not know that Richland 2 had instituted that rule. Without Middle School players, Dutch Fork would not have a JV. We don't have Middle School teams in District 5. Fortunately, the Middle Schools are located within walking distance of the High Schools (except in Chapin), so its easy for them to participate on the high school JV team.
