Brookland-Cayce's Jabari Seabrook was thwarted in the first possession of the match by Battling Bishop goalkeeper Mark Moshtaghi, who made a nice near-post save -- the Bishops counter proved fatal as Lawrence Smith scored to give BE a 1 - 0 lead. Bishop England never looked back, impressive in a 5 -0 victory on Daniel Island tonight.

The Battling Bishops had a 3 goal lead by the 21 min. mark of the match, and incresed it by 2 goals 13 minutes into the second half. The Fighting Bearcats had scoring opportunities, but the BE keepers teamed up to stop 9 of 11 shots.

The Bishops host Myrtle Beach tomorrow, while B-C travels across the river to Porter-Gaud. Bishop England improves to 3 - 0, while B-C falls to 5-4-1.

Halftime: BE 3 - B-C 0

Goals: BE - Lawrence Smith (4), Tommy Kandl (1)

Assists: BE - Sean Snyder (3), Mark Frey (1), Kandl (1)

Saves: BE - Mark Moshtaghi (4), Andrew Haley (5). B-C - Cory Smith (6)

Corners: BE 6, B-C 7

Fouls: BE 27, B-C 8

Lexington lost to South Aiken Friday night 2-1 at Wildcat Hollow. Lexington scored first on an on goal rip from the outside mid Tyler Haladay. Then with about 17:00 left in the first half South Aiken was awarded a PK and capitalized on it. Chriss Kelley was in goal at the time and was playing very well to this point. Tied 1-1 at half time the freshman Will Faukner replaced Kelley and the Wildcats came out strong only to have an easily saved shot go under Faukner with 25:00 mins left in the game. The Wildcats couldnt recover though dominatig the game by far and ended it in another loss for David Kleinfelders Wildcats. Lexington plays Airport on Monday night at District 2 stadium.

Airport bested North Augusta 3-2 on Friday at Les Evans Stadium, returning the favor from earlier in the season when NA beat Airport. Airport scored early on a PK, NA countered with two goals before halftime to lead 2-1. Airport tied the game midway of the second half and scored the winning goal with minutes to play on a tremendous shot from deep on the left side by Jonathan Coburn. Both teams played extremely well and it was a great match to watch.

northwestern 2 Rock hill 1...this rivalry match up proved to be one for the books. the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw in regualtion and went scoreless in two overtime periods. then it was on to pk shootout, not what you want a game of this magnitude to be settled on, but that's how the ball rolled friday night at rock hill's field. Northwestern won in the second round of pk's to win the 1st round of this seasons crosstown city rivalry. to nhs---see ya boys april 24...it'll be a different result..garunteed. good hob to you guys though.
