Emerald, CC and Woodruff all split in the regular season. Who gets the top seed?

it's my understanding that if there is a tie between region records, then whoever scored the most region goals will get the higher seed. if there is a tie between goals scored it will go to goals scored against.

Since this is for state playoff rankings does the same apply. In goals scored Emerald and Woodruff each had 9 with CC having 8. In goals against Woodruff had 8, CC 9 and Emerald 10. Based on this, Woodruff should be 1, Emerald 2 and CC 3.

Christ Church #1 - beat Emerald in regulation and that should take precedence over Emerald beating them in PK's. Christ Chruch and Woodruff split but Christ Church has better strength of schedule.

Woodruff #2 - beat Emerald first game by two goals and only lost second game by one.

Emerald #3

There is no difference in strength of schedule between CC and Woodruff. CC played Mauldin and Woodruff played Spartanburg. They both played the big three from Greenville. Woodruff did handle SSC much better than CC.

Tie breakers are determined by the specific Region in which the teams play. Could be different from Region to Region.

woodruff played cc and emerald (the two other top upstate teams in 2A/1A)—they also played spartan high, riverside, emerald, greenville, byrnes—cc played a tough schedule also—but no one played a tougher schedule than woodruff—a hard call—but it should be woodruff, cc, emerald—split seasons plus woodruff and cc facing a tough regular season schedule plus the stats for the season among each other (with common opponents tossed in for some consideration)—

What about Emerald's sweep of both of them this past week and a half? Woodruff did have a tougher schedule, but they didn't have any quality wins other than Emerald and CC once. Does a tough scheulde, whether a team had quality wins within in or not, constitute a better team? Would the timing of both of these big wins for Emerald count in consideration for the #1 seed? I'm obviously biased, but the most recent results seem to play a larger role in consideration in my mind.

I do not think anyone has any problem with SSC being #4 in the upstate. CC beet them 3-2 and 2-0. Woodruff beat them 7-2. Emerald did not play them. Emerald did beat BHP who has maybe the weakest schedule in AAA.

Look at Woodruff's and Christ Church's schedule and results on the SIS board. At the bottom you will see opponents win and loss record.

Christ Church's schedule indicates stronger opponents.

I agree with EHSdefender, I have never heard of a quality loss. If you beat the higher ranked teams thats another story. But when playing a 3A/4A school they may change their line up or game plan to adjust to the lower team so the score may be deceiving.

This can be debated for a long time. The bottom line is goals scored vs. goals given up head to head. Woodruff +1, CC even, Emerald -1. All the other woulda shoulda doesn't really matter.
