what keepers are standouts this year. in 3A there is senior corey smith from bc and newberrys keeper devon saxon is having a great junior year. let me know who you think is the best in the state from any team.

Rob Williams is an outstanding goalie. I saw him play against Sumter and he made some unbelievable saves. I know that Sumter and Lancaster do not get along, but I know for a fact that they respect his skills after that game.

the goveners school keeper is AWESOME, when we played them we could hardly get anything into the net... and after the game i heard their coach telling our coach that it was only the keepers third game... he was one of the best keepers ive ever seen play highschool soccer, and it was his first year on top of that... he's got some great goal keeping ahead of him

well considering Gville's goalie Matt Couvion has let in 1 goal all season. My vote is on him. Seeing how gville has a goal ratio of 53-1.

That is an impressive ratio. Lets look at this one too...Irmo 67:8, 7 shutouts, 1 match with more than 1 goal scored against and that was just 2 goals. I think thats a pretty impressive ratio also...especially since the competition is more vast...like Walton GA. Maybe its just b/c i'm a defender but I feel that the defense probably has alot to do with these ratios. Am I wrong?

I think Lugoff-Elgin's keeper Jason Dixon is one of the best in the state. For his second year ever playing the sport he is pretty awesome. Most of the goals scored against Jason are mistakes by the D. Last night against Flora Jason had some awesome diving safes and stopped I think 3 breakaways. Absolutely one of the best in the state.

Definately the keeper from Gov. School has one awesome goalie. And it is only this guys first year playing goalie! I believe that Jason is one incredible goalie also. Being that it is his second year playing soccer ever, and how he has made many diving saves and confronted breakaways and saved them nicely. Also Camden has a pretty decent goalie. From the games I have seen them play he is a talented keeper in several aspects of being a goalie. These are the only goalies I have seen so far that are worth being named some of the best in the state.

One of the best goal keepers in the state is from Porter-Gaud. Other teams will have trouble scoring on him. Mark owens is very good.

The keeper from Ninety Six is AWESOME. Harper Tucker. Watch out for him in upper state.

cj vivitoe from crestwood is one of the best goalies in the state. i'm not saying that because i play for crestwood, but if you come out to our games cj makes unbelieveable saves. i couldn't back that up with the score or our record though.
another one of best keepers in the state is our sweeper, sometimes, lot of times he stands behind the goalie and gets saves. i'm not saying crestwood is one of the elite teams in the state though. we're ok, it's just that we have communication problems.

Definitely, Lancaster has the best keeper in the state in Rob Williams. Playing against some of the best teams in the state, he has to be on his top game every match. Seldom has he had less than 20 saves in a game. You have to acknowledge the skills. One on one, no one is better.

I know who's NOT a good goalie - the dude from Irmo. He's overrated. If my team had as good as a record as his, I could put my neighbor's dog at keeper. Only his forwards and midfielders keep him from pressure. He's a ham.

corey smith from brookland cayce is definately one of the top keepers in the state. he made the biggest difference in the BC-Waccamaw game. The several outstanding saves and two point blank shots that he stopped were great. although Waccamaw played awful the first half, the score did not reflect much of the game. Waccamaw had just as many if not more opportunities to score.

Crestwood and Lancaster's goalies both aren't good. We scored some pretty sad shots on both. Lancaster's defense ins't that great either, we had a breakaway every 5-10 minutes, its sad on our part though that we only scored twice last time we played them. LR goalkeeper is prolly the most under rated goalie, simply cause we have no defense to help him out. Compare his game from last year to this year....SV would score 30 goals in one game.....our defense hasn't changed this year, and its down to 9. In fact most teams in our region scored over 20 goals last year against us, but this year nothing has been over a 13 goal margin....still a lot but a he!! of an improvement. Besides.....ive heard a ref on MORE than one occasion say he was on the of the best goalies they've ever seen.....everyone has bad days though, its only human.

i'm the lancaster goalkeeper and we won the game against lr 7-2.both goals you scored were one on one, if you ever miss a one on one or a pk you must really suck.and you never had a breakaway evey 5-10min. you had the last 20 min against our freshman defense and only scored twice.as for your keeper he is horrible.he has hands made of bricks. shots hit him directly in his hand several times and he still couldn't catch them.
GET ON THIS:i promise you the sorry lr keeper will not be the all-region keeper. watch and see.

Its not like Lancaster's goalie will be the region keeper either. Spring Valley's Jimmy Danko is obviously going to be the pick. And the rest of the region team will be made up of Ridge View, Dutch Fork, and RNE players, with maybe one player from LR and Lancaster (and thats just b/c they have to pick atleast one from each team). Not saying there isn't any talent at LR or Lancaster but theres more at the other 4 schools. So now to the best goalies i've seen. Gov's School goalie (don't know his name somebody should check this kid out) and Jim Danko.

Danko is definatly the better keeper in that Region..he keeps his teams in many games and did the same in the u18 club state championship game

Stratford's keeper, Colby Pagan, is prolly the best keeper b/c he plays very well off his line, comes up big constantly, and is even a threat offensively with free kicks.

I don't know about any 3-a teams but in 1-A one person has played great. Derrick McAlister from Blackville-Hilda has played very good. He just came up from JV last year and he is playing superb!

look i'm not out here trying to defend myself as the best keeper in the region, but you said two of the stupidest things i've ever heard. First you said because i missed a pk i suck. Now i think everyone would agree with me when i say, if a pk shooter doesn't make it then he sucks. It was a well placed shot that literally hit the inside of the post, now that shot is next to impossible, that doesn't mean i suck. And the second stupid thing you said was if a keeper misses a one on one then he sucks. Breakaways are the secod hardest shots to stop next to pk's. Any real keeper would tell you the same. The options open to the offense in a one on one is unlimited. A keeper has to leave his line to slide under a breakaway, and the second a keeper starts to leave his line for the opponent, (if the oponent knows what he's doing) he'll take the shot that instant because the keeper is flatfooted and can't make a clean dive. So i don' give a F*** wht team your a keeper for you obiviously don't know much about what your doing.

And one other thing,

You won that first game 7-2, but the second game you guys really worked my weak spot, which is breakaways, thats one thing that i was't taught at an early age, but i bet you that no one on your team would score on me from outside the 18. All of your goals in the second game came from one on ones (which i admit i'm terrible at) but not a single shot scored. I've watched the tape of the game, and the closest you had to a shot that scored was after i dove and blocked one (and on a dive a few feet off the ground priority to me is making sure it doesn't pass me then if possible to catch it) but i didnt' catch it and my defense allowed one follow up that you guys shot in. Thats it.
So keep your ignorant remarks to yourself.

matt musick of Chapin High school is by far the best keeper in the state.

L_R GK you are very right about PKs. I always pity the goalie in a shootout or in a close game when there is a PK against him. He is always the one on the team who gets blamed if the shooter makes it. There are certain shots a goalie just can't stop. Period.

LR's goal keeper sucks we lost to them twice but i scored two goals. That a blind girl could have saved if she was playing in the box.

Dude..you do understand that that isn't really a cut down to the LR goalie. You're kinda cutting yourself down saying that a blind girl could have stopped your two goals. And about your goalie being one of the best in the state. That might be true...if by best you mean better than the worst. He doesn't completely suck but every shot isn't someone else's fault. And when people rack it up on ya like they do to Crestwood...the goalie can't be one of or the best.

Guys i understand i'm not the best, and as far as the one guy saying a blind girl could of stopped it...that doesn't say much for him or me i guess. But your going to have to realize a few things, one everyone has bad days. Two i'm a shot stopping keeper, when you take shots fom outside the 18 your chances of scoring aint so hot. But i'm not a shot preventer, meaning i wont come out on a breakaway, i wait for the shot, meaning your shots that you scored (that a blind girl could have stopped) were all at 5-10 yards from me witch puts you well inside the box. And those were my fault because i didn't try and prevent the shot. But i promise you when i learn that i will make your team play a little harder to score. And i'm not cutting anyone from lancaster down. I did say the keeper doen't seem to know what he's talking about, but thats true i had a guy agree that pk's are not expected to be blocked by a keeper, and that doesn't make him a terrible keeper like he thinks.
o and by the way 7crestwood, you only scored two goals in your two games we played you, and thats only because i was about to fall alseep when you got that shot. (simply because you only had one or two shots the entire game and i was gettin ready to fall asleep of boredome) Also for the record, in the second game that goal you scored was well taken. It hit the very very top corner which i dove for but i didn't have enough time to react on it because like i said earlier you were maybe 8 yards away.

wow, you just can't take ANYTHING Crestwood says seriously, and for the Lancaster guy who says we only got a few break aways in the last 20 minutes against the freshman offense....why did we miss 4 breakaways in the first half alone? i personally missed 2 in the second half, 3 alone had your goalie beat and hit the posts, so whether it was your freshman defense in the last 20 minutes doesn't matter cause we missed 5 given goals throughout the entire course of the game.

i dont see wut the big deal is about having the best goalie is anyways. you can have casey keller for your goalie but if your defense sucks and your offense cant score for cramp your screwed. look at us, airport has a decent starting goalie and a solid defense, good offense, but we cant play together for crap. so the goalie doesnt even matter cause no one can stop everything

As for great goalies there is one with little recognition in Todd Rickey of Georgetown. Playing for Georgetown which is not a soccer school makes it tough for him to stand out in the eyes of many. The kid is quite incredible being only a junior this year he was the all-region goalie last season. He works extremely hard and has great leadership for an underclassman. He may definatly turn some heads as Georgetown also has some other standout players in senior David Morris, junior adrian bumbut (in a cast for two more weeks), and junior Cody Grim. Todd is definately a quality goalie who has the skills to play as well as any other keeper. He will surely be a college grab due to the fact that he is also the top student in his class. Watch for this kid because having another year to go he will surely improve upon the outstanding keeper that he already is.

My opinion is pretty accurate "blackguyatdawood" cause i play for LR, and we've heard your crap for the last few months after we beat you both times. Your goalie is barely decent, the only reason we didn't score 10 goals is cause your hefty defender would bowl through people and clear it half way up the field.

First of all, nobody asked for your raggedy opinion in the first place. I was talking to the jackass anyway. Secondly, never have I once put anything on this message board to slander anybody. And I'm the one that tries to talk to my teammates about not talking so much trash. I didn't want to say anything about it, but I apologized to your goalie for what my teammate said about him, I bet you didn't know that did ya? I have come to the realization that you apparently have terrible reading comprehension skills. Did I or did I not say I was trying to talk my teammates into not being derogatory to you guys. I have no problem with your team, but you are starting to **** me off. Everything was fine between me and the rest of the forum, until you come in and start with your crap. I am truly amazed that there can be four pages of posts about the best keepers in the state and Adam Rogers hasn't been mentioned once!! Ok so he's under 5 ft. 8! besides his height he's one of the smartest and most skilled keepers around. Too bad he just won't grow.

Matt Carlisle - Northwestern

Marlboro Academy had a good goalie...they play fall soccer in SCISA..he had good size...6'3 or so and could punt it a mile...not sure if he's a jr or a sr..anyone know this guy i am talking about??

what about the lakewood goalie?? i know for a fact that any team that they have played has seen him in action.
although, no one from lakewood has said anything about other goalies. wait, i know why, because we never get close enough to try them out.

Kid you suck because yur team lost and it was mainly your own fault. You should have made several saves but didnot. In the 1st game where we won 5-1, I scored 2 headers on you off of corner kicks which you could have easily stopped if you had tried. All you had to do was stick a hand in there but you didnt and I took adv. of that. Also in the second game where we beat you 7-2 we scored off of 3 other corner kicks which were right in front of you that you could have prevented but once again you didnt. You're horrible
Also you completely misunderstood what are goalie was saying, he did not say that you sucked because you didnt stop a pk and a breakaway, he said it was hard to stop those and that he stopped 5 breakaways in the 2 matches we had
