They have this already started on the boys side. How about the girls? I know Lexington should be loaded in the Mid-State; how about the other programs around the state? The big 3 (W.A.; J.I. & Wando) in the low-country? Ft. Mill, Dorman & South Aiken in the upper-state regions? How will Eastside and Riverside fare? Can B.C. repeat?

South Aiken graduated five or six key players, others may not return, and they don't even have a coach. I don't understand why they would be listed in anyone's top 15.

What has happened to Spring Valley's program? Am I wrong, or were they not very good in the 90s?

a fan....
FYI, South Aiken does have a coach. Haven't been keeping up have we... They may have graduated several players but there are still a few bright spots on the team. Does this mean your daughter is not playing?

In 3a Chapin will be much improved this year along with Dreher and Airport. BC had a couple of key losses from last year but is returning some very talented players. BC will be the favorite until they are beaten but I do believe the State Champ for 3a will come out of that region. In 4a look for James Island to take the title. The midlands will provide some very good teams from Irmo, Lexington and Spring Valley, but I don't think they can fight James Island off. Next year will be the year for the Midlands. In 2a, Bishop England. Everyone else can play for second in 2/1A. The Taco Bell tournament will be the first gauge of the talent but it is a long season and one key injury could hurt a team.

To early to tell. I am waiting to see who shows up for soccer. We are getting some key freshman who will help a lot in some areas where we had problems last year and a lot of very strong sophmores with another year under their belts. But I am a homer so:

1)Chapin
2)BC
3)Dreher
4)Airport
5)Strom Thurmond

But I could see any combination of at least the top 3 on my list with Airport making a 2 or 3 spot. I really have no good feel for this.
