I agree with you on some but not totally! Respect is demanded around here. Soccer is nothing but polititcs, thats why some teams don't even get looked at. Every soccer player knows that and hates that. Even in college, you can be the best in what ou do but if your TEAM doesn't have the stats then you are over looked for a good scholarship. Also Jasper playing with 10 players is their fault not WH.......the coach should have asked to call the game at half but he didn't apparently. Also if you read AND understood what I was talking about with respect in soccer then you would know that I was manily talking about the example I gave. Also when a team is winning by that much as the coach won't call.......then practice time is open. Use that team to practice things you can't do during practice!

No true soccer player would ever want to be on a team that QUIT! How can you even suggest that? You play and hope that the other team has enough respect for you not to run the score. Would WHHS have quit if they were getting beat that bad? Do you really think that any starters should have played the second half if there were enough players on second string? Did Bishop England run the score in the playoffs against Wade Hampton? It really could have happened. You pull back, that is how you get respect. It is not the score, it is how you play the game. Remember, college soccer and high school soccer are NOT the "same game", as much as we would like it to be. It's not how good you are as much as who you are. If a team needs practice , maybe they should actually attend the scheduled practices, all of them, not when it suits the players.

no BE could not run the score on us because we had every one back. You watch soccer from the stands.....being in the actual game and playing it are 2 different things.

Maybe you're right, but from the stands 20-0 was ugly and I'm sure a few people on the field felt the same way,,,,,from both teams. [Smile]

Last year when the score was ran up on teams we played we would use them for practice. Things like shooting from the outside, crossing the ball more, things like that, that you can't just get done with other players on your team. Playing against another team gives you a better reaction than playing against people you know and play with. Also the way I was taught to play soccer was differently for people who weren't on the same team. Last year all we wanted was people to respect us (The town of Hampton and other schools) and to get that from Hampton people you had to show you can play ball and blow them away. Same as with some schools. Also if a team doesn't quit what does it say for their morale? I would rather quit the game while it is 20-0 then say we got beat 40-0!! Also I am not talking totally from this year's standpoint.............I'm talking from last year's standpoint and from what people tell me and what I see at the games. All I can truly say is that I had a different coach last year than they have and I wouldn't change that for anything............everything he taught me and told me (either in front of the fans/parents or in the locker room) is what made me a better player on and off the field.

I sure do wish that WH could beat BH. Maybe they would be a good team then. And, WHHSOCCERMOM14, you're the screamer, aren't you?
