Footwork does not a player make . . .

Well, it is pretty simple, 18-0 is uncalled for. Two touch, headers, and only scoring off crosses, still make a team better, and yet it protects the dignitty of the other team. The only way beating someone 18-0 helps your team, is possibly on PK's cause thats what it amounts to. No mercy rule, because thats just as degrading as losing 18-0. But scoring only on headers and having to do one and two touches can greatly help a teams ball skills. Possibly even get some nice footage for the college tape, you know, your daughter jumping up and heading it into the goal looks pretty good on film.

Or maybe even putting your SECOND string in. Some younger girls that may not get as much playing time during the big games. Helps them build for the future. Heck who knows they may have had their second string in i don't know.

#12 doesnt play "dirty".. its called soccer.. its also a very physical sport.. im sure u wouldnt want to be pushed off of the ball, so u have to have an aggressive side..

i cant stand it when you all talk bad about one player or one team.. its just a sport that we all play.. whether u win or lose, u still come out to have fun..

your right gunners but all state as a freshman and participating in odp i think says quite a lot.

Since I was not at the game, I can only talk about hearsay. My JI connection said JI played w/o 4 starters & only 1 sub as well as many restrictions - one where every player had to touch the ball before scoring.

a little pushing is alright but throwing a punch as i was told she did isnt. and like i said i was recounting the game as i was told. but the consensus from the dreher girls and the fans at the game was that she fouled constantly even she was not near the ball and that is obviously a biased perspective but i dont think that many people would fabricate that opinion without some basis for it.

Thats cool, i mean if a team can score 18 goals, with restrictions like everyone has to touch the ball, then more power to them, at least they are still getting a challenge.

Allstate as a freshman may be fairly impressive. But ODP in South Carolina is not. Especially on the girls side. I hope, if you are a player who has been selected to the region team, you will forgive me for saying this. But I think Hailey Beam was the only South Carolina player to make it this year...and she lives in charlotte! The fact is, the odp team doesn't need to pick the best 18 in the state, and they often don't. I'm not going to get into it all, but its quite political. As long as they get the 1 or 2 players that are good enough to be looked at, the rest are purely up to whoever they are purely up to.

Having said that, I don't know whether Ellison Sharpe is a good player, I did ref her club team once this year, but had no clue who she was at the time.
