WHS played hard—still adjusting to the loss of their leading scorer—Congrats WHS girls for a great regular season—3 losses to 4A squads and a 1-1 tie loss to Emerald in PKs—This team continues to progress and I think they will go far in the playoffs!

Eastside 2 Wren 0

On a pleasant, dry evening at Furman University, the Eastside Lady Eagles hosted the Wren Lady Hurricanes. It was the end of the regular season and senior night when 4 seniors were honored, Regan Hayes (GK), Kendall Rice (Def), Rebecca Rush (Mid), and Merrideth Wade (Mid).

The first goal was scored by Abby Martin and assisted by Brentley Roberts after a mad cap play in front of the Wren goal. The goalie had misjudged the ball and it bounced around in front of the goal until Brentley toe poked it towards the opening and Abby crushed it into the back of the net. The first half was mostly Lady Eagles with a few Wren forays into the Eastside defense.

The second half was more to Wren's favor. A lot of back and forth at midfield catching the Eagle's flatfooted. Leah Yokel finally scored the second goal to firmly put the game away. The action swayed back and forth in the breeze until the final whistle.

Congratulations to the seniors and good luck at college. Good luck and best wishes as you enter the playoffs.

Congratulations to the Lady Knights, who managed to turn our every error tonight into a goal--they played every ball like the game was on the line, and made the most of it.

Sorry to see our season wind down with this last dashing of playoff hopes...going to miss all of you guys in the off season! Best of luck to the playoffs contenders--play hard, play 80, and play for the love of the game!
