Below are what should be accurate seedings for the AAAA Upperstate Playoffs. Optimistically accurate records are posted next to each team, and probably inaccurate predictions follow. The numbers before each team represent Region-Seeding:

1-1 TL Hanna 17-3 (10-0) #13
2-4 Spartan. 8-11-1 (4-6)

3-2 Northwestern 10-10 (8-2)
4-3 North Augusta 9-5 (5-5)

2-1 Dorman 16-3 (9-1) #5
1-4 Westside 11-9 (4-6)

4-2 Aiken 10-9 (7-3) #15
3-3 Lancaster 10-5 (5-5)

3-1 Fort Mill 17-4 (10-0)
4-4 South Aiken 8-10 (5-5)

1-2 Wren 11-9-1 (7-3)
2-3 Byrnes 10-10-1 (6-4)

4-1 Lexington 17-2 (10-0) #6
3-4 Gaffney 4-11 (3-7)

2-2 Mauldin 20-3 (9-1) #1
1-3 Greenwood 8-8 (7-3)

Best of luck to all.

Lexington (team with the least amount of losses) and Mauldin (team with the most wins) have a difficult path to the state championship.

Dorman did themselves a huge favor with that victory earlier this week.

Lexington and Mauldin in the second round thats a tough draw for both. The winner of that most likely gets Fort Mill. Tough Road. If Mauldin was to beat Lexington at Lexington would the next round be at Fort Mill or does the H designation still apply even though Ft. Mill is a 1 and Mauldin a 2.

The higher seed prevails for home matches. Therefore, if Fort Mill wins their first and second round matches and Lexington and Mauldin play each other in the second round, Fort Mill will be at home if Mauldin wins and will go to Lexington if Lexington wins. Of course, there are a lot of "ifs" there.

Why is Lexington a higher seed then FM? Is it based simply on wins and losses.

Seed for each Region, Joe. Fort Mill finished 1st in their region, as did Lexington. When two #1 seeds meet, the High School League uses a predetermined system to see which team host.

Lexington finished it's regular season tonight with at 5-0 win over White Knoll. That's 12 consecutive shutouts and counting.

Mauldin, Ft. Mill, Dorman... to be the best you have to beat the best. To say the least, the road to the upper state championship is going to be filled with some very good games. If Lexington is to do anything this year in the playoffs, they will have to earn it. (and lets not forget about TL Hanna who is trying very hard to stay under the radar)
The real season starts NOW!! Good luck to everyone!!
