OK.....here's the Rock Hill Herald's version. (Please let me know if this link doesn't work and I'll copy the article over if necessary).
http://www.buzzfans.com/sports/high/fort_mill/story/5708434p-5113057c.htmlHere's my take. Fort Mill 3, South Aiken 0.
Kudos to Coach Zameer Sheihk and the South Aiken ladies, they played very well. The Lady T-Breds only brought 13 players and half of them were freshmen. I know Aiken has a strong U-14G team (Heat) and a very strong U-12G team (Fireballs). If these girls are feeding into South Aiken HS, their program is in good shape. The Lady T-Breds battled hard for 80 minutes and in the last 15 minutes, when the Fort Mill coach went to his bench, South Aiken evened the play and actually scraped the post. Best of luck to SA next year, you represented your school and your region very well.
As for the Lady Jackets, they got the job done once again. Cathryn Wilson was the hero, scoring two goals on headers (the first was a beauty) and setting up Chelsea Peterson for the third. The 3-0 halftime score stood up through the final whistle.
The Lady Jackets were steady on defense, but less than crisp on offense. I like to give some of the credit to SA, I feel they were one of the stronger fourth seeds in the tournament (at least they played like it last night).
FM gets the winner of Byrnes - Wren....I haven't even seen that result yet.
