Absolutly true, that is only because the easiest way to judge a player is, how many goals they have scored. FM has possibly two of the top players in the state and one emerging star playing defense. They have proven that they are offensive threats, I believe 30 or so points between the three of them this season, but often over looked, as are many defenders.

R4SC, P&Y DAUGHTER'S IS looked at by D1 coaches weekly in club....(she is a top player in this state) with that said, he is not even talking about her. If you read he is talking in general about the upper level of 2a girls. Kids from the likes of cc, scs, woodruff, BE and Academic magnet to name a few schools with quality players.

Sorry that I have been taken as rabid or biased for my own child. I have stated on this thread Blakely Mattern and Sara Delap, by the way. Both are AAAA and not kin to me in any way. And I also have stated that A, AA, AAA deserve atention just as AAAA does, but that AAAA tends to receive most of the attention. Biased? Of course. Who isn't? The top AA teams have two and three players on each team that would be starters on any team in the state; that includes several AA teams. Those AA teams can't compete with larger schools with 8-12 players of that caliber. Just a fact. I would add, I have always made positive comments about girls soccer and girls on those soccer teams. ALL of the teams and players. I have been arguing for MORE recognition, not recognition for any one player anywhere.

pks are my fav:

I think GKs are viewed as either heros or zeros. Take it from a GKs dad, their life is no picnic. They can make one mistake in a game and everyone sees it vs. a field player that may make numerous mistakes in a game. GKs are under appreciated for the job they have to do when the defense tires or the team goes into defense mode. This allows a complete assalt on the GKs. The mental ability a GK has should more appreciated by all on player selection committees.

I follow the boys side more than the girls side. But from what I have seen Kira Cambell is 1 of the top players but I have not seen Blakely Mattern. As far as GK Erica Deahl is very good.
