Perhaps a first step would be to not admit any private school that pays scholarships to student athletes.

I would also think that these schools can't have 7th & 8th graders play varsity unlike those private schools that actually play in SCISA..no?

scotland: I believe that they [and by "they", I mean high school players and/or coaches] get by this because it's not the high school coach doing the coaching [there are all sorts of weird and strange rules about how many players a coach can coach if a coach could chuck wood or something like that -- I'm not smart enough to figure it all out.]

>>[soccerfan1960] I understand your concerns about private schools getting a broader geographical base to attract. Public schools do the same thing. We have a school in the upstate that has quite a few of their "star" players that live outside their attendance lines. They are there on special permission.<<I would like to find out more about this. For some number of months I have been trying to get Ellison Sharpe's parents to allow her to live in my home so she could play for Lexington [I do not have the funds to buy them a second home here in Lexington.] So far they have refused me; but I have not given up hope. Perhaps with one of these special permissions, and enough of a bribe...excuse me, I mean "present"...I could succeed in getting her over here.

Hey, I know some players too... Can I get in the action....I mean ... Can I assist certain students in attending a school of their choice?

I was reading the earlier posts. Academic Magnet would have no chance in SCISA. Bishop England would do well, and SS Christian and CC would have a tough time, too.

They do that in all of the big sports in the high school league. I'm sure they'd never do that at the big schools in soccer, though. Do all of the soccer players get picked up by the school bus in the morning?

beidh pionta agam—other than your comments being totally ill informed—I have stated here repeatedly—This is not about whether or not a few A/AA public schools CAN be competitive—because some have been—The point is THAT THIS IS NOT FAIR because private schools have an unfair advantage (they ahve different rules), and this does not occur with the larger schools or in other "more important" sports where it would NOT be tolerated. Since this impacts A/AA girls most, no one truly cares. That said, I hope that a A/AA public schools wins the state soon (next year?) and defeats CC abd BE in the playoffs!
