The Brookland-Cayce JV squad, coached by Todd Wilkinson, posted a perfect 3-0 record en route to the 2006 Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic held at The Cage February 24-25.
B-C allowed only one goal during the tournament and recorded victories against Cardinal Newman (2-0), Ridge View (2-1 OT), and Spring Valley (1-0). Sophomore Pedro Vargas netted the game-winner for the Bearcats in the title game vs. the Vikings and 8th grader Chris Duzan recorded his second shutout of the two day event.
Spring Valley was the defending tourney champion (defeating B-C 4-0 in 2005) and this title marks B-C's first championship of the JV Kickoff Classic since 2002 and their third overall since 2000.
