South Carolina Girls U-15 (Carolina Girls Fusion) advance to Final to face North Texas. The Fusion defeated South Texas 3-1 in overtime. This sets up a rematch from last years semi-final where North Texas defeated the Fusion 4-3 in overtime. Best of luck to the Fusion players and to Coach Andy Grist. [Smile]

The Southern Regionals Website (noted above) has posted interim scores. In the 2nd half, the girls are down 2-1, the boys are leading 1-0.

The girls bowed out 5-1 in the final, however, they've had a great tournament and obviously a great future. Congratulations to them, their coaches and families.

On the boy's side, the scoreboard says "2-2, OT required". So, that looks like it's not over yet.

The boys from Aiken won in PK's (6-5). Congratulations to them. South Carolina will now have one team gunning for a national title.

I was looking at the national soccer rankings at www.nationalsoccerranking.com and it said that Aiken Fire was 4th in Region III and 26th in the nation. It also said that it was updated July 2, 2002. How is this so(they just won Region III)?

Playa, they probably dont update the rankings that quick!
GREAT JOB FIRE!! BEST in the South Region!
Stay focused and not let the region championship go to your heads. You can celebrate after the nationals, win or lose. The whole state is pulling for you. You have a chance to put S.C. on the national soccer map!
