The Congaree Rapid87 squad finished second in the Coweta Cannons Broadside Tournament in Newnan, Georgia this weekend.

The Rapid87 tied the host Cannons U15 team 2-2 Saturday afternoon and defeated the Douglas County Force 4-1 in the nightcap. However, in the championship on Sunday, Red Star from Columbus, Georgia downed the Rapid87 5-2.

The Rapid87 squad will participate in the Sun Cup at Virginia Beach, Virginia next weekend before finishing their preseason with the Aiken Cup (August 24-25).

Players from five high schools (Brookland-Cayce, A.C. Flora, Mid-Carolina, Lexington, White Knoll) and one middle school (Hand) make up the squad that is coached by Kevin Heise and Will Eudy of B-C.
