Immediately after the game last nite, a NMB player approached the MB bench, verbally challenged one of the MB players and then proceeded to throw punches. A policeman had to step in to bring an end to it. Will there be repercussions for this child at school? Aren't there rules about violent agressive behavior on school time? The coach should be especially concerned, since this was his son.

I am very sorry to hear that this happened. It is unfortunate that this type of behavior is allowed. I hope that the Coach will deal with this in an appropriate manner. Please keep us posted as to what the results of the situation are.

Thanks for bringing this up. I know the player was kicked off the team by the COACH, but i don't think u had to mention relationship in doing so. The coach was embarrassed enough. In fact the whole team and parents were enraged and I would like to apologize to MB for his dumb actions. But in the future please make the issue as it pertains to player and coach w/o mentioning relationship.

To coachj:

3 years ago MB lost to Newberry in the 2nd playoff round. There was no type of altercation whatsoever following that game. What are you talking about?

Do you think the Coach over-reacted by kicking the player off the team? I was thinking 3 days OSS...and not able to play any games during suspension. Isn't that the norm for this type of behavior?

Asking, do you think the player might be treated a little different because of his relationship to Coach? This is why I bring it up...This would not be appropriate either way...he should be treated like any other player, not held less OR MORE accountable. If the Coach decides to pull him off the team AS A PARENT, that is a different story. I wonder what their AD has to say.

I think the coachs' reaction was geared b/c it was after the game & not during "the heat of battle" but that's just my opinion. After the game bygones should be that.
everyone gets alittle hot during the game but remember it's just a game & u won't even remember down the road.
