What does anyone think of a team that quits half way thru the second half of a tournament game because they are hot and tired and can't win. Saw it today with my own eyes. Glad I am not paying that coach!

I'd like to know more about that situation. Either post or private mail me.

Without knowing anything about it, my sympathies are with the coach. Sometimes it's hard to coach in what some combination of God and their parents left out.

From what I heard, the coach was in complete error as he let a teenager bait him into retalliation and then the young man did his best acting job. Unfortunate indeed.

Huh? I'm completely lost...I thought this was just some kids quitting on themselves and their fellow teammates...

Yes HH a girls team quit while into the second half. They didn't want to play any more because they were hot, tired and knew they could not win the tournament but... we were hot tired and playing a player down because of a red card. I just think it was very poor sportsmanship to quit in the middle of a game. I know our coach and players would have never quit. We finished undefeated (sort of)

Did the red card have anything to do with why they quit? Was the game getting out of hand and the coach decided it was better to quit then a girl having a season ending injury.

No, one of our more zealous players got two yellow cards for minor fouls. Which into turn to a red. We broke for a water break in the second half and the next thing we knew the coaches were shaking hands. Our coach said they wanted to quit playing because they were hot, tired and couldn't win. It was not a physical game nor high scoring. We won 3-0. It was the second game for both that day. I was just surprised that a U18 team would just quit because they couldn't win. No coach or ours would even think of it. Our girls would have played thru a hurricane.

I have always been disappointed in the HH tournament. And this year it wasn't even sanctioned by SCYSA. So if you had a player get hurt tuff luck.
