I think you will find they are pretty lenient with late registrations. Even up to the Interstate GAmes in January. However, if you are a marginal selectee, the more times the coach can see you , the greater your chances are of being selected. If you wait til the last minute you better be clearly one of the best out there.I'm going by past experience. It may be stricter from coach to coach, but most coaches are diligent in making sure they select the best team possible.
