Sorry, but until someone proves me otherwise, the real, or should I say more impressive "National Championship" involves winning USYSA Regions and then USYSA Nationals.

Judge the team against the standards that everyone goes by. When they succeed at that level and beat the teams that have already done so then you can talk about them setting the standard. Until then, any talk of how many goals they will win by is trash talk and disrespectful of the current champions.

Have Bridge 90 Gold/Red gone to some tournaments with RIIIPL teams? If so, how have the Bridge 90 Gold/Red teams done in these tournaments?

How can the brackets be frozen when there are still games being played?

Corner Flag - Bridge FA was not formed until this year so they were unable to compete in USYSA Regions and then Nationals.

U- 14 National Champions for US Club Soccer. They earned the honor of being called National champs -why do you have to belittle the team. They do have some great talent on the team.

SCYSA State Champions will be held in Greenville at the MESA complex the weekend of December 2 -4th. I can't wait to see these teams play. It will be some exciting games.

There is no belittling here. They are a good team and may be the best team in the state but until there is a basis of comparison against the DSC and CESA teams, or against the same competition, there shouldn't be talk about how many goals they are going to win by.

Corner, if you would take a breath and read what I posted, I was attempting to steer this away from exactly what you have done, before it ever started. There's another thread about HS vs Club where someone says that smack talk doesn't happen much in club soccer. Personally, I don't think smack talk has any place, other than to provide cannon fodder for people that don't have all the information.

To answer your question concerning common opponents: The only one so far is the First Coast Kyx out of Florida. Bridge 7-0, DSC 9-0, CESA yet to play. Hard to make a comparison with only 1 common opponent with scores like that, and just about everyone is doing that with them. Bridge did play up at the RBC, and suffered their first loss 2-1 in the finals to the Bridge 89 Gold.

Simply stated there are 3 very good teams in this particular age group, that are worthy of playing in the premier league, and there will be some very good matches come December. And hopefully, SC will figure that out and get these 3 teams into the premier league for next year, regardless of the state cup results.

Soccer, hypothetical on the brackets, meaning taking the standings from today. Yes still games to be played and the only certainty is that the SC team with the higher finish in premier league, gets a first round bye.

Going back to an earlier question and response, I have to ask captain who from csc will even get to the finals? I can't see even one team making the finals of the older age groups.

As for Bridge, looks like the merger has gone very well. They have a great chance to win a couple of state championships. The 17 Boys are very good and the 15 Boys - well, once again, they are the best team statewide in their age group. Also, the younger teams from Bridge are doing very well. You should see some of the scores.

As for CESA winning all of the titles again - no way.

Pretty Ricky (Suh):

1) Who do you see making the finals instead of CSC in the older boys age brackets?

2) How did you decide that the Bridge U15B team was better than the DSC U15B team?

socceris my life,
It does not matter when Bridge was formed they would not have gone to regionals until they win a premier league or state cup.

This does lead to another question that Bear can answer. What is the process for applying to a US Club soccer regional event and what are the qualifications that must be met.

Chico (stick):

Not too sure who will make the finals in every age group. However, it seems to be a little more competitive than last year. I think mt pleasant and bridge will be represented in the finals.

If you take into account the results, the coaching, and the amount of talent that is on that bridge team, it doesn't seem so arrogant to proclaim them as the champion.

I think the Bridge team should win state. They are national champs. They have to be the favorite.

As for CSC, I agree with Pretty. They will be lucky to get a team into the finals in the older boys age group.
